I had to freeze frame it to see the boot. Big boot with big grips. Ouch!

wow, he is lucky it was a boot. He is standing so close to the train that something on the train sticking out a bit would have taken his head right off, ouch.

Wonder if the conductor was trying to push him back, just kick him for being a DA, or just did not realize because getting kicked and falling down could also have put him into or under the train.

It probably was the driver just breaking up his work routine by knocking a tourist in the noggin dizzy

Yup the kid's retarded. The operator is criminal and I hope he loses his job. Being stupid doesn't give license for someone else to increase the potential for injury.

the boot could have pulled the kid under the train, that being said he probably deserves it.

no sense of self preservation, let him go.

I'm betting that the operator, after sounding the whistle and seeing that earphone wearing idiot boy wasn't responding, put his foot out in order to prevent earphone wearing idiot boy from being hit by the train itself.

Yeah, he deserved it.
There are quite a few suicides every year where people walk out in front of trains.
Nice for the train driver...
I bet seeing someonee standing next to the track not reacting to the signal sent a chill up the drivers spine.

My brother worked for the swedish rail company, and he told me about a train driver in Stockholm who had hit nine people. I'd probably have changed career after the first one.

(If they really want to commit suicide, why not hang themselves? Quick, painless, and they don't drag others into it.)

Generally people that commit suicide are complete a*sholes and tend to do it in public places. I have zero sympathy for them.

You may be right, but I'd not risk the potential further injury by boot kicking the kid. As frustratingly stupid as standing that close to the train is, would you really want to be the one to see the kid mangled and dead because of his folly and a subsequent boot to the head? It would be one thing if he was clipped by the train because he was standing too close and a whole other thing to have him fall back and get crushed under the wheels because of a kick, IMO.

Still, I expect the "witnessing someone's death first hand and you are unable to stop it" to be very traumatic for nearly everyone, regardless of whether it was a suicide or not. The kid was lucky to just get a kick in the head. If the train could stop on a dime, I'd bet the driver/engineer would've beat him senseless or at least dragged him out by the small hairs.
