I saw the advertisement for this new ABC show on my iPad while using my APP

Resurrection (2014 )

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2647586/

So I GOOG it to read the reviews and the reviews are not very good on it and they also said it's another Hollywood COPYCAT of a much better French version:

Les Revenants

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2521668/

I just found the entire first season of the French version on torrent in 720p.

It's like that show Bron/Broen (The Bridge).

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1733785/

I came across Season 1 by accident online and downloaded it and watch it.

Awesome show!

Then Season 2 was broadcast on Scandinavian TV and I found all episodes on the net each week after it was broadcast.

Another awesome season. Looking forward to season 3, maybe around September 2015.

Hollywood decided once again to remake it for American TV and their version turned out to be crap.

Why does every great foreign film or TV series that Hollywood decides to remake turns out to be junk?

I am on Episode 5 of Les Revenants, the French TV Series the new ABC show Resurrection copycat from.

WOW!

Every episode so far had me on the edge of my seat and there are new thrilling and terrible things slowly revealed in each passing episode.

I haven't seen the ABC remake but I am sure it will suck and be devoid of any tension and suspense and mystery like its French counterpart.

I finally finished the First season of Les Revenants!

Amazing!

I won't even dare try the American TV remake!

Starting on this now:

Fleming (2014)

Just started watching Devious Maids, Season 1 on DVD.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2226342/

Season 2 premieres this Sunday.

This show is so baaad, it's good!

Also tonight, Fargo premiered:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2802850/

It's based on the 1996 movie, which won Best Actress and Best Screenplay Oscars and was nominated 5 other Oscars including for Best Picture and Best Director.

Fargo is on my top 5 all time favorite movie list.

I was upset when it lost out to that snoozefest The English Patient.

This show is awesome!

Then on May 4th, Jack Bauer returns in another season of "24".

I am in TV Heaven!

"Hamlet: Prinz von Danemark"

This is a black & white German production of "Hamlet" from 1960 which is masterfully riffed by Mike and the robots at Mystery Science Theatre.

There are actually 2 actors in it that I recognized! Maximilian Schell and Karl Michael Vogler.

It was a filmed play done with like 5 lights. Miserable to look at. Probably the most dull performance I'd ever seen, made Mel Gibson look like Olivier.

I just watched the Criterion Blu-Ray of

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057193/

This was one of my favorite movies when I was a little kid.

It's still a fun movie.

You have to wonder how they filmed some of the stunts back then 51 years ago when they didn't have CGI and green screens.

Dad always told me one thing since I was young:

"Greed is the root of all evil"

and it absolutely shows in the characters in this film.

biggrin

Miniature sets and models were used quite a bit in that film.

Caught Captain America 2 in the theater. It found it to be a very good movie. It was much better than the first film. I feel it was also better than Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel. It's probably on par with the Avengers IMHO.

The final scene with the close up of all 11 idiots hanging from the collapsed fire escape and then from the firetruck's extended ladder looks real.

Starcrash (1979)

They just don't make bad movies like they used too. This film is so bad, yet so good. Great entertainment. Oh yeah and there's some hot babes. biggrin

Oh yes, Star Crash.

It had hot Caroline Munro, the helicopter pilot in The Spy Who Loved Me.

I have this movie.

Holy crap!! I forgot that Christopher Plummer was in "Star Crash". I guess the late 70's was a lean time for Plummer....

Yes but he was an unknown back then since that film was before Knight Rider.

I saw Ender's Game. Not bad. Not as good as I'd thought it would be after decades of people talking about the book, but certainly a worthwhile SF film...even if the ending is given away by the book's title.

The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)

Average story, excellent characters and superb visuals, a real cinematographical treat. (Is cinematographical a word? biggrin )
They did a great job of switching between eras and creating atmosphere. Not a five star film but definitely worth a watch or two.

I've been wanting to see this. Most of Wes Anderson's films are interesting since they are usually pretty quirky and unique.
