It's for those Geocachers nowadays who will find the wreckage buried and as the typical geocaching trade-item they will find the skeleton of the pilot...  Mmuahahahahaaa!!! Good one! Just made my first sortie with Jasta 17 and the new Patch 1.21, and everything worked fine for me. So I was very happy to surprise a SPAD VII from the "Storks", when they jumped our flight, which was still circling and climbing for altitude. I had already climbed higher, and was a bit offset, in the sun. So the SPAD pilot may not have seen me coming at him at all. When he seemed to be defenseless, I flew closer, only to find him sunken into his cockpit, behind a standing propeller. Moments like that never fail to touch me somewhere deep inside.

Nice Olham! First reported sighting of the Flying Dutchman in WOFF! You would see them occasionally in OFF, nice they are still around!
The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

Flying Dutchman? What do you mean, Rick? The Flying Dutchman is a legendary ghost ship that could never come to port but was doomed to sail the seas with all hands lost. Occasionally you would find an enemy in OFF who was dead at the stick and would just keep on flying till the plane ran out of gas. Yours looks like he is an amazing glider though  RR

But in this case he wasn't one - I had only shot him some seconds ago.

Ah, ok, you never specifically said that you fired, so I thought you were holding fire till you got in close and saw that he was already dead from earlier! Of course, Boelcke can do it: I fly close to my man, aim well and then of course he falls down. — Captain Oswald Boelcke. See, he never fired!

Great screens, Olham! I'd forgotten about the occasional 'deadman flying' / "Weird War Tales" aircraft one might stumble across in OFF. I haven't come across any in WOFF yet mainly because I rarely last myself lol.

Thanks, MFair - it was actually the wrong skin for Jasta 17, which had specific
markings with thin black stripes on a white band.
This falcon emblem I made for my Jasta 14 pilot - they'll have to change them.
