I've seen some youtube tutorials but are there any text manuals about for startup/flight/landing CEM procedures for specific aircraft?

Thanks,

Are these operation checklists still valid for TF Patch 4.312?

Flea stop to update his Check List at middle of 2013:

http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpost.php?p=500932&postcount=1

These guide are well done, but have to much "fantasy". smile

Quote:
Spitfire MkI
1. Ignition switches -- OFF
2. Undercarraige Selector Lever Position --DOWN --gate; Indicator Shows --IDLE
3. Switch on Light Indicator and Check for --GREEN--lights
4. Flaps --UP
5. Landing Lamps --UP
6. Wheel Brakes --ON
7. Fuel Contents --CHECK
8. Movement of the Flying Controls --CHECK

1. Mixture --NORMAL
2. Pitch Controls Fully Forward to --FINE PITCH
3. Radiator Shutter Fully --OPEN
4. Raise Both Fuel Cock Levers to --ON
5. Prime the Cylinders by Injecting --FIVE
6. Propeller Area --CLEAR
7. Switch Ignition --ON--; Throttle --OPEN SLIGHTLY
8. Starting Switch --PRESS AND HOLD

Most
of these items dont need check/set, the plane already spawn with then in correct position.

To start Spitfire engine the only thing need do is:
Open fuel cock, hit (the magic) "I" (il-2'46 heritage) - nothing more, no switch magnetos, no advance throttle .5 inch, no set PP, mixture...etc.

Obvious different planes have different procedures.

CloD "CEM" is more myth than reality.
What is really need is respect engine limits - to this check TF Wiki, is more updated.

I remember Oleg's resistance to CEM, he felt people would not want it or use it

I've only had COD for about a month, but CEM is the primary reason I haven't started playing online. I don't use it in Single Player mode. I am a pilot IRL and the instruments are much smaller on my screen than IRL which means I'm leaning forward trying to read the itty bitty gauges when I should be flying...not very realistic and so far just anoying. I can see why Oleg resisted CEM.

But will give it a go at some point smile

We are all different in what appeals to us. I myself wish he would have gone the CEM route(able to turn off, naturally). I am also a pilot, and enjoy the extra demand on me in a sim. What I want to experience is something close to what those pilots had to endure...llya's new project should deliver that to me, I'm looking forward to that

+1. As crude as it is, I actually used the CEM to practice some of the concepts I learned this year in flight school.

It's really useful to use the new zoom control, you set it in camera controls, IIRC. With it you can zoom in to read a gauge, and then zoom back out to normal view with the press of a button. Combined with a good TrackIr profile, it's very immersive.

CEM = complex engine management

And by the way: i miss in most of ATAG's manuals the minimum flight speed:
stall speed 109E1/E3 ca. 125km/h, ca. 90 km/h in landing configuration
