ok.. it still can penetrate more than 1 meter of steel =)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AGM-114_Hellfire

Quote:
Warhead: Integrated Blast Frag Sleeve (IBFS) (combine blast fragmentation and fragment dispersion)

Armour penetration capabilities of blast fragmentation (HE) warhead at least twice lower (in case it's shaped charge) than high-explosive anti-tank warhead with same weight (HEAT). pls read some articles about types of warheads, it's important for you to understand on what physical principals works different warheads. if you afraid it will greatly reduce effectiveness - just yesterday I killed two ka-52s that was 50m from each other with one 114r missile.

yep, I like it.
I already add it to the weapon database. I left both 114K and 114R but with current payload system it's too hard to make possible to choose from two missiles, so 114K will be here just in case it will be made in future. exception is AH-1W - it has both missiles, 114K for ATG payload and 114R for ATA payload. all other helis get upgrade from AGM114K to AGM114R.
right now I'm making experiments with wide launch angle - due to description it can be launch in opposite direction to target. I believe inertial unit can guide missile in this conditions, but it's quite impossible because of technical limitations of rocket itself. anyway, I'll try to find practical maximum launch angle and will show you how it will works.

Wow Thealx that's a great news, now i'm thinking about APKWS but it will not work on the UH60 stated that it doesn't have FLIR and Laser rangefinder/designator, so i'll see.

Are you talking about APKWS? I read on the web that is fitted on USMC's AH1W/Z and that also US army conducts some test for equip apache and kiowa with this system. How proceed with Romeo Hellfire's inertial measurement unit? Anyhow i was only thinking about it, because i want to do something for this game instead of always asking someone else.

yep, it's still in testings. first delivering for US army scheduled only in 2016.

I'm working with AI weapon launching conditions, trying to improve effectiveness and decrease faulty launches. right now wide launching angle greatly decreases time from enemy spotting moment to launching missile

AGM-114R appears with 1.15.2FIX7 executables, if you would like to change any values please notify me.

short instructions. 114R has blast fragmentation warhead, it means it's effective against soft and light armored targets. it can be effectively used against airborne targets because of proximity fuze (or something I don't know what it's name). it can cause damage to heavy armored vehicles, it works most effective from weakest sides of the vehicle (top/back). also it has inertial unit that makes possible to launch missile with large angle to the target - up to 100*. but, it shouldn't used this way at short range (missile will overshot target) or long range (acceleration decreased when missile make a turn, there is will be no enough inertia to cover this distance). and don't forget - it semi-active laser guided missile and necessary conditions should be fulfilled.

Isn't anyone worried about this upsetting the sim balance if all the Ks except for the Whiskey have now been replaced with Rs? It seems like either these Romeos should be a rarity in the sim or the K should be entirely gotten rid of and the names should be switched to L for Laser and R for Radar in the loadout screen to match the cockpit display. Then those of us that want the Ks back in the campaigns for whatever reason can just tweak the GWUT values for the Laser Hellfire listing.

make a test - copy AGM114K string into AGM114R. then launch some Hellfires against moving air targets, compare it's effectiveness with 9A4172. shouldn't it broke the sim balance to leave AGM114K like main Blue's rotary-wing weapon?
