Kermit Weeks from "Fantasy of Flight" (Florida) has made many videos of flying
historical aircraft, even replicas of WW1 planes, like the Albatros D.Va and
the Sopwith Snipe. He often uses a helmet camera - his "Kermie Cam".
Here are the 3 Snipe videos.

Nice videos Olham. I loved watching how the pilot had both hands full. Really put it in perspective. Thanks for posting.

Yes, I still think that many or most of us expect these aircraft to work and react
like modern light speed racing craft.
If we could sit in the real cockpit, we would probably be in for a bad surprise.
I guess the whole handling and the overall situation was much tougher than we'd like.

I agree Olham, and if not tougher, then certainly busier and more intricate than just throttling up and swinging the stick around biggrin I really enjoyed the videos- thanks for posting the links!

Kind regards
Dave

Love the throb of the Albatros' engine compared to the buzz from the Snipe's motor.

Yeah, that's where my love of the throbbing Alb D.Va engine came from. I watched those videos right after watching the Snipe videos.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
