Home from Sebring International Raceway, good race, good time. Now I can check off Daytona and Sebring from my list of tracks/races I want to see. The others, Watkins Glen, Laguna Seca, Road America, and the new Circuit of America's will have to wait till after retirement in 2 years time. wink

Daytona seems to be more organized with things in all the right places, but with terrible full track visibility... while... Sebring is not as organized, it's more old school racing where you pay to get in and pretty much go wherever you want, within reason. They have viewing stands and viewing mounds open to all in most of the corners. They have spectator walkways around MOST of the track. (Daytona really needs that.)

Daytona is more organized and high end, most there seem to be middle aged men, most with money and high in cars. (Talking about the road races, not NASCAR), or middle age men, like me with no money but love fast sport cars, lol, or younger men, fewer women. While Sebring is for the collage age kids, a lot of drinking, loud music, probably because it's Spring Break. A lot of young college men and girls, A bikini contest and live bands. I got lucky, where I parked overlooked the main stage where the bikini contest and rock bands we're and a big screen to watch the race... from my car. I walked around mostly, got pics from every spot, but then during the hot mid afternoon, sat in my car with the AC on and watched the race and young kids party. wink

Pics and videos later in the video section.... maybe, got to see what turned out. wink

Oh I'm paying for it today... I got burnt, and nearly had heat stroke at one time, and still feel it today. Took the dogs outside today and as soon as the sun hit my skin it was like a reactivation. wink

BUT I must thank the members of SimHQ, especially for Panter and a couple others who taught me how to use my digital camera. I had the settings all wrong for speed at Daytona, at Sebring I RTFM and took others advise and got some pretty nice shots, well 10gb of screens and 20gb of video. wink (in fast mode the pictures are taken continuously while shutter is held, so a lot of junk pictures between moving objects.)

heres my inexperiece at Daytona:

and heres lessons learned at Sebring:

Cool trip! We only got the first 3 hrs coverage on Fox, so I didn't bother watching yet.
F1 kicked off last night. Tried to stay awake for most but fell asleep. Rough start to that season! And the cars sound horrible now.

Took over 1000 pictures, I sure couldn't show them all or even some of them, so I thought about the time lapse photography I've been doing lately, so tried it with the pictures, didn't think it was going to work, but it actually turned out pretty well. 1000 plus pics in under 1 min, in the middle a car goes off track, and then you actually see a plane taxi in the background near the end. Pretty cool.

If interested
