Is there a specific installation order when installing the game and all DLC fro scratch?
Previously I just owned the Matrix version of Operation Star.
Now I have purchased all 9 modules including the base game again and hi res texture pack and all DLC from the Gamersgate sale.
I do not intend using the Matrix Games version again.

Since all the DLC are optional I presume there is no installation order, is that correct?

But with the patches and hi res textures should they be in a specific order?

I seem to remember a long while ago someone posted a screen shot of everything installed in some sort of order.
If the position in the list makes a difference could someone post a picture of a full installation for me.

Mind you by the time I get the missing download links fixed in my account and the rest of the parts downloaded I doubt I will have A full installation for a fair while. Downloading from GamersGate is very slow for me in Australia.

Any help will be appreciated.

Regards.

I have all the modules now. The downloads labeled Graviteam Tactics did not have the download arrows but had links in the pane to the right of the game listing. These were very hard to get as if they were hosted in a different spot. Took multiple goes to get them, while the modules with download arrows downloaded straight off and fast.

One question though, is the Gamersgate version always the latest? IE do I need to install the latest patch?
And if I have the hi res texture DLC do I need the optional texture patch on the patch site?

Hope to start installing tomorrow.

Regards

What version is displayed in upper right screen of main menu? I downloaded from Gamersgate yesterday and it showed version 5.81.
After I updated to the latest patch it still shows '5.81' but with 'dec13a' appended to it.

@ Snake51 there will be a number after 5.81 relating to build eg 5.81 (2170) for the recent core update.
The dec13a update isn't this core patch which is a small exe.

@ markl - The patches are generally newer than GG, but you should see the version numbers 5.81 (xxxx) & Update (month) on the start menu screen top right.
Mine is currently 5.81 (2170) & Dec13a

The polygon update, patches & core updates are normally different to, & I think kept more up to date, than the stuff on GG, so I install these whenever they are updated/available.

On GG (and Steam) the core and polygon updates are not needed anymore. The latest patch currently is dec13, you need to install only it.

"the optional texture patch" - I think you are talking about demo version.

Thanks for clarification on what those numbers refer to.

Thank you for the clarification.
The optional texture patch possibly is just for the demo but it is a bit hard to tell from this link as all Operation Star patches are in one list. Not seperated for demo and full game.

http://www.graviteam.com/HELP/patches.html
“Achtung Panzer: Operation Star“ (English version)
• NEW Demo (October, 30 2012)
• Core Update_GTOS_cu_v581c1_eng (May,20 2013)
• NEW Current Patch_GTOS_dec13a_eng(January,20 2014)
Polygons Update_mar_2013_eng (optional)

I found this topic to be quiet helpfull, some how missed it when I searched yesterday.

Had to work late today so did not get a chance to install the game and DLC. Hopefully tomorrow night.

Cheers

I have it all installed but there are two differences between my installation and the one in the screen shot
http://gravitac.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Installing_updates_and_modifications

I have no district update v1.03 and “Voloonovka 1942 v 2.01 installed as Blau 1942 v 1.09.
My Voloonovka 1942 was "k43t_apos_dlc_volokon42_sum_may12_eng.exe" before it extracted to the "CORE" directory with the "desc.addpack" so I assume I have the right file, but not sure why it installed as "Blau 1942 v 1.09"

Any ideas on the incorrect DLC name?

Since I have the latest DLC from gamersgate I gather the district update 1.03 is the no longer required update mentioned http://graviteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=11099.0
Free DLC "Update of districts Taranovka and Rakitnoe"
Note. This DLC is included already in new (September 2013) game installer from GamersGate.

Any help on "Voloonovka 1942 v 2.01" installing as "Blau 1942 v 1.09" would be appreciated.

Regards

Yes, the district update v1.03 isn't required. I wrote this here, there, and everywhere. biggrin

As of Volokonovka, download it using the link in the FILES section, something like "Download the latest version".

I think the Volokonovka 1942 v 2.01 vs Blau 1942 v 1.09 thing may be a result of the fact Volokonovka was a battle in the German Fall Blau operation. Naming got switched around maybe?

Yes, the DLC itself is called Volokonovka, the filename was changed for consistency probably.
