Great film, but when did you start have the "sky band rings" ???
I do not have that on my GTX 780 Ti/332.21 NVidia drivers. I use to get that with my AMD/ATI cards/drivers, but not the NVidia cards/drivers.
CPU = i9 11900K GPU = RTX 3080 Ti Monitor = ASUS ROG Swift PG32UQX 2160p G-sync

Those glinting lights and shadows are an amazing addition to WOFF - it makes it so much more realistic now! I am glad that the devs are working together with AnKor at adding this into "Wings Over Flanders Fields"!

I'm running an ATI HD7870, and I cannot see any fraps-hits either.

Amazing Video. at 3:45 you were centimetres from a collision...I even lowered my head as I watched You are a great marksman. And about a minute earlier, at 2:38 ish, I thought the two Albatri were going to collide! Excellent video as always! The glare on the windscreen is brilliant! RR

I don't see any FPS hit myself, but I'm running a fairly high end card. GTX 780 TI superclocked. Out of curiosity, what's the clock speed on your CPU? Wish I could get Ankor's thing running, but just haven't had the time to look into it yet (crashes on mission load for me!)

Oh man.. the surface reflection is still way too high IMO. I hope the glossy effect gets taken out before the new graphics get implemented. Everything looks like it has a thick coat of lacquer. The high gloss sheen on the leather around the windshield stands out the most, of course. Makes it all look like polished metal. Sorry guys, but I'd rather use vanilla graphics if this effect can't be removed.

...somewhere (buried in one of these threads), someone quoted Mick Mannocks rules of engagement
Someone?! Huh! If the sun glint was so pronounced that he felt it was necessary to survival to do whatever possible to avoid it, it must have been a lot more than you or I might have imagined it was.
Otto Fuchs wrote a passage in his book "Wir Flieger" about this. It goes: "Again, I turn my attention towards the magic world of the clouds; I sail around the blinding marble columns, spirited domed crests of lonely peaks, from which endless snow-covered flanks are lowering downwards, like softly draped fleece. Four fine flashes stab me in the eyes. Over there, beyond the inky-blue stream, four little silverfishes are glinting in the sun... And more distant from them, a fifth. In a turn they made, the mirrored sunrays betrayed them."

The high gloss sheen on the leather around the windshield stands out the most, of course. Makes it all look like polished metal. Sorry guys, but I'd rather use vanilla graphics if this effect can't be removed. As people pointed out - wings are shiny and reflective. It seems to be a common misconception that they look like wool. Perhaps this impression may have been created by contemporary photos which (if I recall correctly) weren't equally sensitive to all colors and caused even clear sunny weather to look like dull overcast. However, I completely agree about the leather padding and some other parts of the cockpit being too shiny. There's no way they could look like this. The problem is - I can only get so much out of existing 3D models which weren't made with all these effects in mind. I'm constantly trying to find a good balance for these additional effects, perhaps even spending too much time on it which instead could have been put into something more useful. To illustrate. This is "specularity" level for cockpits of of Pup, Camel, Alb DIII OAW, and Dr1: Now, my current code uses a very simple approach - if specularity is higher than some level - add a strong glint of constant strength. I will try to make it better in the next beta, it will have more variety which will probably help. However, if you compare these pictures - you will note that the specularity is inconsistent for similar parts of different planes. Thus if I reduce the glossiness for the Pup - the Camel and Dr1 will become too dull, and Alb's cockpit interior wall will anyways be more shiny that her wings which feels wrong. And note that Pup's near and far struts have different level of glossiness, which is still lower that leather padding. I doubt it will look good if I follow it exactly. That's why it is difficult to find a good balance. I understand you have no way and don't really need to know all these details, I just want to explain and defend a bit against the criticism. Though the constructive criticism is still welcome, it really helps to improve the quality
