For those who don't have Premium... the map pack will be released in 2 weeks, Premium members now... all well done.

CB is awesome looking, Metro well is metro, never been a fan of it, but it is still nice looking, then theirs Firestorm which has a nice looking upgrade, and my favorite re-make, Guld of Oman, it starts off clear and beautiful, then a sand storm comes in, thick at first then fades...

I like the Autumn look of the Caspian map.

and finally, my favorite part of the whole Second Assault map pack, Gulf of Oman...Sandstorm, in real time, not sped up:

Thanks for the updates Mags. It's hard to believe how far graphics have evolved and continue to become even more immersive with each passing year. I can only imagine how much better this will all get when devices like Occulus Rift are the new standard.

For clarification, these are the latest multiplayer maps just released as a DLC? (disregard, re-read the intro..)

BF4's good fun and all, but the visuals are hardly anything to write home about and aren't nearly as impressive as everyone makes them out to be. The game has some really awful textures and low-poly models.

I was gifted premium on PC, so take my opinion with a grain of salt I spose'.

I'd say don't buy it. The maps are the smallest in franchise history, it's more CoD crowd oriented than it ever has been and to honest, it's kinda ugly in the visuals department. This latest rehash of a rehash of a map pack improves and varies the game-play a bit, but the series has lost it's luster for me.

I just reinstalled BF3... so uh, yeah.

The first ten or so screens made me wish for a RTS with the Frostbite engine.

Frostbite engine is beautiful.

My wish is for Steel Beasts to one day adopt this engine.

As for the screens, that first map looks like something from Bad Company 2.... the last decent BF game.

Like others in this thread, I don't own BF4, and have no desire for it especially with the newer maps that try to emulate CoD. However, I do miss squad battles. I wish they were 6v6 though.
