I cannot wait for this game. An rpg set in the Tolkien universe with visceral melee combat and object scaling ala assassin's creed and a very cool AI memory system.

It sounds good on paper but 9/10 times systems like that end up being very canned and not very fun to play lol.

I hadn't heard of this until yesterday and thought it sounds good, but The Witcher 3 will be the one I go for first smile

Looks cool, but also basically seems to be Assassians Creed with a Tolkien license. Please note I'm not saying that's a bad thing, just that I don't see a ton of gameplay innovation taking place. Don't get me wrong I certainly would buy AC: Middle Earth smile

I also dont like the whole wraith in me thing. There wasnt THAT much magic in ME. It seems every time someone makes a new game they always make up a bunch of new magic stuff and that diminishes what little magic was in the stories.

Facial animation and lip synching looks to be very well done also. I hope it has strong rpg elements with free roaming and questing available.

Looks amazing, seems to play amazing. All at the expense of Tolkien's lore. smile

If they made a true Tolkien Hobbit and LOTR game/simulator, I'd want to just chill out in the shire farming, reading books and spending hours in my Hobbit hole and pantry smoking pipes and writing about a journey I have yet to take.

It looks as lore friendly as any of the movies though, and if anything, spins a "what if" yarn between any unwritten accounts in the books to flesh out the story with one's imagination.

The wraith mode is kind of weird but if done right, it could make sense especially considering the movie's take on that nether world that Frodo stepped into from time to time with the ring. Perhaps something in the man's spirit fights the pull to give himself over to being a wraith yet at the same time provides him with certain powerful advantages in his quest for revenge of his family.

Well hello, reskinned Assassin's Creed wink

Looks good though. Not enough Middle Earth universe games out there.

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

Yeah, I'm a sucker for all things LOTR.

Battle for Middle Earth was a mainstay at my place, I bought 4 copies :p

That even looked like Trinidad in AC4 didn't it? If someone made a LOTR mod for AC4, people would eat it up. Now we've got a professionally done game on the way. Looks like a winner.
I see it set for 12/31, so I guess that means no release date yet but sometime this year.

Can't wait. Looks epic though I don't often use that word. biggrin Sounds like the voice acting is top notch and I love the way your character is animated and with cloth physics.

Very nice!

AC mechanics without guns in the LotR universe sounds tempting.

Hopefully the game will tell a good story to accompany all the slaughter?!

Hope so. The Nemesis AI system sounds really cool but time will tell how it actually works in-game. I was impressed with the voice acting in that trailer. Aren't Monolith the ones responsible for the FEAR games? Never did play those really but know they were supposed to be pretty good.

Wow now that's an awesome trailer. I do hope it comes out on time. Not sure as of late with other titles dropping off into next year. This trailer has got me even more jazzed up, please don't delay it like everyone else!
