Looking forward to this but still wish they would do a serious cold war theme game, somewhere between WW2 and Shock Force. the 1980's would be great.

They are working on a modern warfare one. It is coming. You notice all the new features and improvements to the game engine via this upcoming Bagration installment? My guess is that many of these features are made possible because of the work done on the modern warfare game and visa versa with current combat mission series. It is all starting to come together now, little bit by little bit...just like BF said it might years ago despite the naysayers and "I want it now" crowd.

Look at your installed CMBN, CMFI games...what does the number say? Should be 2.12 correct? The current CMx2 games are currently running the 2.0 engine. The 3.0 engine will be up and running with the advent of Combat Mission Red Thunder. New features like flame throwers, anti-aircraft guns actually being able to shoot down aircraft, bigger maps etc. New coding, giving new features...

I kept hoping for an 80's era Cold War game too, but I think the new Shock Force (Black Sea?) is as close as we'll get. At least it's European this time and not in the dust. Actually the more I think about the idea of a modern 'Cold War' game, the more I like it. May not be that far-fetched either. Is it too out there to think that Russia, China and North Korea may not get together and do something stupid some day? Here's hoping not...

I mean, I guess it would just be a guy who you know, grabs bananas and runs. Or, um, a banana that grabs things. I don't know. Why would a banana grab another banana? Those are the kind of questions I just don't want to answer. -Michael Bluth

I know they have a bucketload of modules planned for ww2. Battle of the Bulge and 3 or so more eastern front modules as well as at least one more western front one?? The features should keep coming as well.
All older modules are getting retro fitted with the new features iirc as well. But of course you have to pay a few bob for that which i think is fair enough.

The main reason I will probably get this module is for the new camera modes.

The inclusion of triggers is going to a very welcome addition.

awesome... I too like that the new cameras... always thought be cooler to be 1st persona in a tank riding over a hill to a hull down and engaging... Tigerwulf and I are going to have some awesome battles, now if I could just win one from him. wink

Still wish for a toggle control for all icons/text, one toggle for screens and videos. wink

FPS controls refers simply to how the mouse/keyboard control camera movement. It is not a new way to play the game from a first-person perspective.

Ya, I understand... but I've always wanted to get down to vehicle level and fine tune the movements like a shooter, what I mean.

Yeah, personally I think this is the biggest impact with the new features. It will really show in the new randomness and flexibility of future scenarios.

This is gonna a be a must-buy for me. CMBB is one of my all-time favourite games. I don't even know how many hundreds of hours I've spent fighting on the Eastern Front.

A lot.
