Hi there guys smile

after almost an eternity I decided to jump back in the cockpit...
before starting the "ee dance" (if you know what I am talking about) I wanted to ask you if I really need to "install" ee:
that is, I have 2 computers, laptop and home. what happens if I install it on the laptop, then copy the install dir on the pc and then uninstall it from the laptop?
is the install dir by itself enough to run the game properly?

it has been some 4 or 5 years I have been thinking on getting the source code and helping the community. never really got the chance, but who knows, maybe this is the right time. and if the "no-install" system works, it would be easier to test new exes (just replace the files and you are good to go).
on the other hand, my idea somehow seems somehow flawed... something is wrong in it, and I just cannot pinpoint what.
so, what do you think of what I asked you? am I missing something??????

It probably creates registry entries, so it might not work without those.

correct, exe takes game root path from registry. you can keep different copies of the game, but you should rename them while testing different backups.
I have archive with full eech 1.15 that I'm using when I want to make final test of some changes. so no need reinstall game every time.

btw, I updated compiling instructions on wiki. if you will follow them but something will not goes well please pm me.

yup, I thought there could be something like that smile
thealx tell me something please smile : how do you manage that archive?
I may install everything (eeah, run, eeah patch, run, eech, run, eech path, run, mods) and then copy everything in a backup dir so that if I mess everything up (or if a new patch is released) I just copy everything back and I am good to go: is that what you do?
thanx for the compile instruction, it has been forever I have desired to jump on the train, maybe this is the right time partything pilot

it's the same. but, there is a chance that you can edit/replace some files in the backup folder by coincidence. with archive this is unlikely.
