My longtime coop partner and fellow SimHQ veteran, Lord Flashheart, was kind enough to gift this to me on Steam. I was very impressed by a short run-through today against bots (a positive impression possibly influenced by the fact that the last "tactical" shooter I tried out was "Takedown").

Anyway, I was wondering which of you guys is putting any time into this game. Please leave (Steam) in-game handles here and I will friend you. I'd also appreciate knowing what you think of the game. Thanks!

I do, but stay very very vary far away from competitive modes. I enjoy the coop.

Yes, only coop for me, too. The griefers and nitwits are numerous enough when you're playing with them against the AI; they probably dominate PvP. This is why I'm asking if anyone from this civilized corner of the online gaming world plays it.

How did you get the Coop working? Did you need to use the command line/ stuff?

My Tactical matches(?) is greyed out on main menu, and the server browser works OK, but I'll be jiggered if I know how you host a game...

4-man (or more if others joined) SimHQ coop Terrorist Hunt would be cool though...

Getting into coop was easy enough, as a client anyway; I just joined an existing match in the server list. There were only about 20 people playing last night (unless there is a server filter that hides certain games).

I keep looking at it but never buying it. I liked the mod but people playing have said it's not as good and speeded up, this true?

I cannot comment on the comparison, having only played the recent, standalone, version of the game but I think it's very good at what it does, which is provide tactical, fireteam-scaled CQB to medium-range infantry combat in a convincing urban environment. Coop is great with decent, communicative team mates, many of whom can be found in random servers. It's unforgiving, but not unfairly so, i.e. no enemy AI that can shoot a fly off your upper lip at 400 meters. You need to move carefully and deliberately through the maps because if you say "it's only a game, I'm going to run across this open doorway" you'll get killed and have to wait quite a while to respawn until your team caps another zone. I like that. It's a good tac shooter designed for tac players. There will be alot of classic GR/R6 players who will welcome this, I think. it's not a sandbox, like ArmA but it is a strong FPS that can be played using fire-and-maneuver MOUT tactics.

I played it and it reminds me in a way the first America's Army Special Forces.

It is needed to move carefully and listen carefully.

There are plenty of opportunities to get shoot, it is a Gigantic Killing House.

It is a tactical FPS and team playing is a must otherwise, you will be benched more often that you liked!

The ballistic is remarkable and the sounds are perfect!

Then the comms are kept to a minimum, just like the good old days of CSS pros!

But stay away from servers where you see 23 vs 25, this is a circus!

I played with clans members named "CSF", and they were the way I expect players to be in a Tactical sim, silent professionals.

Not a bad game but it´s the source engine! First it´s the most cheated engine out there and second imho the hitboxes are horrible and since Insugency is a one-hit-kill game this is a bad thing! Wish i bought some icecream for my 10 bucks!

Played the mod once upon the time, bought it from steam last week and now I found myself
logging in every day and having fun! Takes some frustrating time in the beginning getting
killed over and over but Im getting better, have been nr 1(most valuable player) a couple of times.

Did have some problem with my character started spinning uncontrollable,
apparently it doesn't like external controllers, had to unplug em.

Coop is good PvP not so much. Cover each other and clear the room correctly or die. Just as it should be

I have been playing loads of the game and while I agree that it is still a work in progress game its does have tons of potential. The PVP is solid if you get into a squad of players that have mics and choose to use them. I have yet to try out the COOP mode but I have heard great things about it. I just DL the free mod on steam last night. Got into a game with a couple of nitwits off of the server. I would like to get into coop also, is there any specific group I should look for ? For that matter is there a good group of guys to play with on the server ??

Keep in mind that the free version is the older outdated game. Much has changed in the new release. My steam id is the same as my username here add me for games.

Playing this at the moment. Really good. Could be great with a few more weapons and improved animations and characters.

Get on board!

$10 on Steam this weekend. I've downloaded it, but have not had much chance to play yet.

It has more maps and new gamemodes out now.

If they improved the animations and made the player characters more realistic this game would be a real winner.
