Hi Everyone,

First of all-- your assumptions are all wrong. This is not some petty dispute or someone storming off without just cause. This is an internal issue that can be easily rectified, but instead of engaging in clear dialogue, much more serious steps were taken. Steps that were public.

We pride ourselves in being professional in every facet of our products and outward image, therefore this issue going public causes us great grief.

We will not say more at this time. Please keep speculation to a minimum. Seeing something being destroyed in the eyes of the public after a concentrated effort of years of development is heartbreaking.
We have a reputation to maintain, and seeing it be torn to shreds in the matter of two days is far more crushing. Especially with regards to what we have in the pipeline.

We remain committed to the MiG-21 and are working hard to resolve this and move on. Please have faith in us.

/Nicholas, Novak, Roland & Michael -- DCS: MiG-21

Thanks for the info, and keep talking to each other!
I do hope there is a positive outcome to this, been awaiting the release since the first announcement.

There's no harm: The section is now 'Read-Only' in any event.

I hope this all gets worked out. I'm an indigogo backer but I realize that there was risk in contributing money that I might never see. Oh well. I'm more concerned about the team members and the thousands of hours of work that they put into this rather than the loss of my $60.

So close , yet so far. Oh well, Cobra, I wish you all the best, you do amazing work, but this latest doesn't surprise me one little bit, seems to me Cobra and the other artists are doing all the work and Bec doesn't seem to be putting much into the project. Yes, he started it 2 years ago, but it would appear NONE of his work , i.e. textures, models, code is left.

I only put in $20 IIRC (not sure anymore as it was almost 2 years ago), but yes this was a risk. Had I know then what I know now, I wouldn't have. My only KS backing was for Takedown, and THAT turned out great. rolleyes

Of course, the kicker is that it looked a LOT closer than this far out when the crowd funding campaign ran. There were shots of it flying around and being inside the cockpit and all. There was little indication the entire thing would be redone from scratch pretty much, possibly more than once. TBH I expected it late 2012/early 2013 based on what I saw/read then. To have this happen over a year after that is not what I expected.

Please do not hold an aversion to crowdfunding in the future because of an issue that is solvable, and is in the process of being solved.

Humans will always be Humans. Unpredictable and driven by emotion. Please have faith in us and look forward to a successful MiG-21, and beyond.

Have no fear. I love my flight sim hobby and I will continue to contribute and accept the risk :-)

it is only recently I have paid any attention to this 3rd party add on, thanks to Silver Dragon who is keeping us up to date at LOF, it looks promising . I´ve seen some screenshots of the cockpit that were quite good , all is all, an interesting project, hopefully, it will be released, if it is not possible to release it as payware, maybe as freeware.

@Cobra 847:

thanks for the updates. I really hope you guys get it all sorted out, would be a terrible shame if all that amazing work would be for nothing.

Although disappointing this sort of shake up (and worse) aren't exactly unknown in software development. I can understand people are annoyed at potentially losing their cash but that's the risk you take with crowd-funding or buying into a beta release.

I really hope the team can sort this out.

Sounds like the issues within the team came to a head, even if some of the team weren't aware of them!

Hopefully they'll clear the air and get on with the '21.

Looks like DCS has lost confidence. Mig-21 sub forum is deleted.

Deleted or just hidden? They hide forums all the time when they anticipate a firestorm and do that to head it off.
