Kent McCord from Adam-12. I got to chat with him for about 30 minutes, about the show, Jack Webb, and police work in general as I'm a former cop. He retired a few years ago as a Reserve LAPD Officer with the rank of Lieutenant.

Tall guy! I myself never watched the show (it was a bit before my time).

Very cool! I'd love to meet him. Don't forget he played a recurring role as John Crichton's astronaut dad in Farscape too, he was perfect for it. He also played grown up Boxey in Galactica 1980.

Heh. I didn't remember that he was in Airplane 2.

He's about 6'2" and I'm 5'4". I do remember him in Airplane, but I didn't get into that Galactica series or Farscape.

Ugh... Galactica 1980. Now there's a veritable pile of dung.

Yes...and it kept getting worse and worse!
IMO the 1970's BSGalactica series, from the first episode to the second last Galactica1980 episode, is in perfect order from great to crap, in chronological order. It started pretty darn good, and started a slow descent into the dung heap that was later 1980 eps! Except the very last ep, which though airing as 1980, featured Starbuck alone on a planet cooperating with a damaged Cylon...and it was a pretty good one.

I watched the 2 hour pilot for the original BSG a few years ago and I admit it was better than I remembered it.

Oh yeah, I remember him. Interesting that he went from acting to being an LEO.
The Jedi Master
He was still acting while he was a reserve police officer.
He didn't like cops when he was younger, which almost got him fired from the show after his 1st year. He gave an interview to TV Guide where he said he didn't really like cops growing up. The LAPD wanted him fired from the show, but Jack Webb said "i'm not gonna fire him because he 's young and stupid

Loved Adam 12 and Emergency 51 back in the day. I wish they would remake the Six million dollar man, but I'm sure they would have Ben Affleck play the part or Jake Gyllenhaal. Glad you got to meet him Lucky! And what part of uperstate? I'm from Ithaca myself.

There were rumors last decade of a Jim Carrey-starring $6M Man remake, but it either fell apart or was never really in progress. It was naturally going to be billions now.

You referring to Galactica 1980? I don't remember that but I do remember the ridiculous flying bikes.
