I've been playing lots of SP missions in the last few weeks. It seemed like the AI was harder to kill than before; so I did an experiment. I set up a range with Deaf and Dumb AI soldiers and shot them several times in the head.
With a 5.56 rifle, it takes at least two headshots to kill. 2 with a .45 pistol. These are shots to the face, not the helmet.
It takes on average 4 shots to the chest to kill.
Has anyone else noticed this, or am I, as usual, late to the party?
Thanks.

Yes, they are.
Additionally, the new AI animations may be a more technologically advanced system, but it is nowhere near as well blended as the old system, IMO. I often see AI jerking between "ready to fire" and looking as though they are scarecrows hanging on a pole. Last night I even saw one that went from a "wounded and falling" animation to a grenade throw animation. Weird.

I wonder if that was an error in the data the server sent your client.

Hmm... Certainly could've been. It was the first time I'd seen such.

Well, they've always been hard to kill somewhat, routinely needing 3 shots to the chest to go down (although a headshot was possible before which they'd of course do to you often). Now it's just crazy. They have to incorporate some form of temporary incapacitation, falling down, etc. upon hit from a higher power round, even if it's random and doesn't always happen.
I've pretty much shelved it until they fix this stuff. Hopefully by the release of the next part of the campaign.
And while 3-4 shots to kill may be realistic in the 2030's due to body armor, that doesn't make it good for gameplay. Drones that fire a single hellfire are realistic too. Anyone want to simulate that?
I guess that's why I prefer the older theaters of war and more conventional warfare. If someone ever makes another decent Vietnam game I'd be ecstatic.

According to the report, the AI was starting to throw the grenade and then was killed. The killed animation takes over to show that he is dead but then the grenade animation finishes off. As I understand it, their animation system doesn't like to interrupt a sequence well.

I read that as Me262, and yes, it would likely take out the infantry far better than any rifle I could carry. The Jedi Master
