My apologies for taking to long to make some videos after receiving my new card. No sooner did I get it and work hours shot through the roof! Wasn't home long enough to do anything. Anyways, I finally got some time tonight and I took a look at what AnKor has done to make WOFF shine even more.
Ankor took the time to make a DX8 to DX9 converter that allows WOFF to use SweetFX or ENB series graphic enhancers. I am using the SweetFX program and have been playing around with the settings. What a great program that is. Here are a few videos I made with various SweetFX settings. Clouds are probably too bright but maybe that's how they might look if you are that high up and don't have proper sunglasses to block the glare. Still messing with settings. Anyways...
Great stuff! And really good looking. Is SweetFX available to the rest of us? Do you use it in the game, or when you're editing the video clips together?
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.
I tried Sweet FX and messed about with it and to be honest I didn't find anything better than what the game offers anyway..and it certainly wasn't worth the FPS hit.

I turned off all Antialiasing and turned on HDR in SweetFX. Looks good and virtually no FPS hit.
Hauksbee, SweetFX is used in game. It's not something I do while editing the video. It actually changes the way the game looks by allowing different effects that DirectX 9 makes possible, such as Bloom, HDR, etc to be used in game.
Stunning videos Hellshade, thank you. I really appreciate what you do because your previews actually moved me towards buying the game. And now I'm totally hooked. Congratulations on the new card - nice to see everything running smoothly, I'm sure you have a blast, but hey... what's that!? You killed those sheep while hunting Pfalz!? You ruthless maniac...))
Hellshade I would be very interested in knowing what version of SweetFX you have installed and your specific settings. I bet many here would like to emulate the same appearance.
Thanks!

I used to make computer games for a living so you didn't have to!
My Rig: CPU: i7 7700K o/c to 5Ghz GPU: EVGA FTW3 RTX 3080 RAM: 32GB G.SKILL RGB DDR4 (3600MHz) OS: Win10 x64 Storage: 2 x Samsung 960 Pro M.2 1TB SSD's, Samsung 870 QVO 2TB SATA SSD, 1 WD Passport 2TB USB HDD Display: ASUS 34" PG348Q, ASUS 27" VG278HE Thrustmaster A-10 Warthog HOTAS, MFG Crossfire Rudder Pedals, CH Pro Throttle TrackIR, Oculus Quest 2
I prefer the authentic middle/western/european look to the caribbean look which Sweet FX creates. WM made it middle/western europelike and it is quite spot on. I must know, I live there.
@Hellshade
nice vids. How bout using the blip switch instead of throttling when flying rotaries? That would show the people how it was actually done. There was no throttling around
Most other pictures with these effects on always look way too saturated to me, like a standard game with neon lights and super dense colours. We worked very hard indeed to get correct realistic tones and colours and saturation etc and this completely turns that on its head.
yeah as you say Creaghorn looks like the Caribbean Each to his own of course.
Para_Bellum, that looks better than the bright colour ones. Perhaps you could post settings and config so others can try at some point with the more realistic tones?
Wodin quite correct - as I say colour and tone were something important to us we worked on a lot, so vanilla WOFF looks the best.
Im using your settings aswell Para...excellent job Sir
