I'm going to open up a PS3 with GT6 on Christmas day. I was wondering if there are any recommendations for a FFB wheel for GT6? Or should I even bother? I played GT3 or GT4 last time on PS2 and just did it with the controller, but after that, I used to have a Logi MOMO wheel that played great with rFactor 1 on the PC. I skipped GT5 as I did not like the "unlock system" it had.

Any help appreciated!!

If you'll buy a wheel, you must also buy Assetto corsa, currently the best driving/racing sim on the market. I pretty much stopped playing flight sims because of it...

Logitech G27 would be my recommendation.

Kind of depends on your price range and what you want to be able to do.
IMO, the G27 is still the best bang for the buck since it has good pedals w/clutch (very important), good FFB (although not high end like a $500 wheel), pretty good software and an H shifter. It's not the best shifter, but much immersive than using paddle shifters for everything.

Wow, great price at amazon right now, $100 off.

I own both a Logitech G27 and Fanatec GT2, definitely recommend the G27 as the best all around especially for GT6 where it is actually supported within game specifically.

I'd recommend the G27 too, but find a sale price as I don't think they're worth the £225 retail price.

You can obviously buy a much cheaper wheel which would function as intended but the FFB, clutch and shifter option outs this on a much higher pedestal.

I've also put a brake and clutch spring mod (ebay) into mine which map the pedals more closely to a real car and if you ever have plans to use the wheel within your pit, you have the option to mount the pedals upside down so they are attached from the top just like a real car too.

I've tried pretty much all the cheaper wheels over the years but the G27 really does put more immersion into the games.

Here's the Nixim spring mod I went with. Don't like the clutch spring so much and will probably pull it, but the brake is excellent.

Happy Nixim mod user here too, nice cheap way to get progressive brake feeling.

You really can't beat the G25/G27 for bang/buck even after all these years, and Logitech support is great too.

Well, like I said, I used to have a MOMO, so it is comfortable returning to Logitech . However, spending £200 on a controller is starting to go into "hardcore territory," and I'm going to start to want making a pit for this as well. However, as this is going to be on the PS3 which is going to be on the living room, I think I want to keep things casual. Oh, heck, who am I kidding? Even if I were to get a MOMO, I'd still want to mount it in a stable platform, which means "pit."

Dammit, I'm sorry I even asked. I'll stick to the controller for now. I'm sure I'll be "wanting more" with regards to fine-tune controls (iPad tilt function was good for this) but I can't be bothered to buy those cheap rubberband-based resistance wheels. Let's see how long I hold up especially since GT6 looks like a very good game.

I can't play racing games with a controller anymore. Or sitting 12' away from the screen. Totally spoiled for it having a wheel at my desk, my thumbs just aren't dextrous enough to be smooth steering now, I'm all jerky. LOL

Having tried my MOMO, I can definitely relate. Being able to "feel the edge of grip" was really useful in iRacing and it helped me maximize my performance and helped with confidence on turns. The controller simply doesn't do this and all I have to go with is the tire screech which, by then, is too late.

Can you order from the US Amazon site? £135 pounds is a lot better than 200.
