It is coming soon. End of December or early January.

I have no clue how the two will stack up against each other though. Not that it is a competition. I am just glad to be getting two good space sims soon.

I am just disappointed that dates are not honoured and they are with E:D. Just want to play some space shooty games smile

Well... they have till the end of December before they miss their deadline. The quote from the livestream was something like "We could release in december as an SP AI dogfight or release in January using our new system and allow multiplayer."

Im sure they will let it slip to January though.

200 GBP for Alpha access? Does that include the Beta and final game?

LOL! Anyway, buying the aloha pavkage is maybe not the best moneywise solution.

In a month or so beta premium starts and you save 100 £.

Both alpha package and premium beta grant you full expansions lifelong free of charges...

It does look good. However wasn't E:D touting that it would be full Newtonian physics? Cos that sure looks like good ol' fashioned normal atmospheric type dogfighting to me. What happened to thrust vectoring?

There is Newtonian physics.
Fact is there's FCS making ships easier to control, you can deactivate it (or get it damaged/destroyed) and then you really have to fly that thing.

Getting proficient with it WILL give you an edge.

I'm already training with IW:2.

PS: Plus we're not sure how fitted is the Sidewinder ship in the alpha.

What's the difference between Premium and Standard Beta packages?

Premium is supposed to start as early as January.
Standard as early as February/March.

All of this is strictly subjected to possible delays in finishing the next Alpha steps.
Even though from what I've seen, there's little to be worried.

If they had pitched the alpha at around £50-£70 I think a lot more people would have bought it after seeing these videos, a lot more than have paid £200 I bet anyway.

That is true but I bet they want a small alpha base so they can manage it instead of having a thousand crazies running around complaining about every small thing.

stirthepot

Hey, I despise the X-Rebirth alpha, but I still haven't voiced my displeasure on the Steam forums nor have I demanded a refund.

edit:

Though maybe I should! hahaha

I just happened to stumble upon a video taken from the Alpha played only WITHOUT flight assist.
That is, full newtonian.

Let me know what you think of it!

Wow,

my last experience in space with Newtonian physics in I-War would tell me I would have ended in one of these asteroids in seconds.
