Thanks guys for the patience of your replies. I bought the Advanced Hunter LTI, finally. Now, wanna go check out the hangar. I am envious of you that have more than 2 ships. I'll need to pace myself or end up like FSX and have way too many toys and not enough time to use them all.

Sounds really good.

Looks like we will be able to create a SimHQ group as early as January on the website, and it will carry forward into the game.

Good info in there, thanks Master.

Any news whatsoever on the date for the Dogfighting module? It's december and I've got an itchy trigger finger.

There won't be one this year, they said that in the live stream. Instead we get some gun/target thing in the hanger... Not good when you see E:D has the alpha out with a fraction of the budget.

To be fair the official statement is still end of December release. The livestream comment said something like 2 possible releases December would be SP AI only and January would be MP with AI. They were deciding if a month delay to implement MP would be worth while.

well they have to implement the rest of the ships first as well. Otherwise could you imagine the outcry... The dog fighting module is released and I can't play it because my ship is not completed yet.

I would rather them take a few more months and release something better for us to test (like multiplayer stability and performance) than release parts of modules.

Anyhow, I only have (courtesy of Master) the cutlass. So I guess its a little bug, but my (I think it was business) hanger with a model of the cutlass has been replaced with the basic hanger and no model of the cutlass.

Ohh well. Its not even an alpha yet.

The dogfight module will release with only the base ships. (Aurora, 300i, Hornet, Freelancer, Constellation). They have no plans to implement all the ships before the dogfighting module releases.

Also, they are not going to lock you into only your purchased ships for the Dogfighting Module. You will be able to fly any of the base ships. Though this might change if they can get the Cutlass out before DFA drops.

Ice Cold in Alex or Eating in ...
After the update I was checking out the controls and using my Cougar to see what animations it was linked to there was a Ting and my cougar became a floppy stick, one of the gimbals broke

Not a happy panda!

now do I replace the workings with a Real Simulator force sensing board or do I go for a Warthog as it is only slightly more expensive????

They have an email address you can use to request a part replacement. I have it here somewhere if you want it.

Well, have just loaded up the patch and now have 2 further bugs introduced, I now drop through the floor when trying to access the lift and the cockpit view from my 325 has clipping issues.

I know its an Alpha but after a 2 gig patch I was hoping for a little more!

On a side note, I don't spend a lot of time on the RSI forums but have tried to find some other comments about the holo table, but haven't, which surprises me somewhat. As I truly believe it to be one of the worst iterations of an equipment selection interface I have ever seen. Its clunky, not intuitive and makes everything slow and painful to use.

Worst of all its use of wireframe graphics really doesn't add anything whatsoever to the design feel and usability of the interface.

Its use really doesn't gel with the setting either. If the game was set in the 1980's maybe, but using them in a world where they have terra formed planets and build spaceships the size of a small town, really???

...Maybe its just me!
