Well I finally got WOT to work again on my computer after a over a year of having it freeze at the connection screen.
I do like the new maps and the new battle types. The UK tanks are the big draw for me as well as the Leopard. I am currently working up the line to the Comet and Centurion, I need to go back on my German tanks to the II/IV in order to go up the Leopard line and am well on my way to the M26 Sherman, currently have a T20 there.
My current tanks are my Panther, Panther II and Jagdpanther, for the US I have the Jumbo and T20 and for the UK I have Crusader and Cromwell (but only with the long barrel 6pdr).
This community makes the Mechwarrior Online community look like saints. The cursing and whining is somewhat over the top, ie. "FU Arty" for being Artillery and doing what artillery does. I got called an A hole for killing a the last tank by some Clanner that was kill whoring, even though I did most of the fighting and took most of the damage. Got threatened with being reported as a bot because I had to deal with my 2 year old just after the match started as if a Crusader would turn the tide in a 12-2 pug stomping.
I see some people from here online and was wondering if there is a Sim HQ Clan?

Gunnyhighway had a clan, schwerpunkt I believe. Aside from him, havent seen any active clanning or recruiting here. Welcome back to WoT. Admittedly have scaled back how much I was playing but am liking the new German TD line. I was in a clan and they are nice to have a solid team to work with but the internal bickering tore them apart.

I have a clan with only one good friend. We play only on Saturdays from 05:00 to 08:00 PST.
The internal bickering is what always kept me away from clans, as tactical time is perceived to me as a training exercise, not as a whining exercise.
People, are welcome to join to train with us if they can wake up early, and if they want to be tactical, have strong ethics and are willing to behave in an orderly, proficient and military manner.
Anything less than that, is uncivilized to me!

"cough, cough" the only thing military about our manner is my colorful language LMAO! Well, it's nice to have a good, cohesive team, regardless of color of language and some sort of rehearsed tactics.

I do need to join a clan I think. My kill/death and win/loss ratio are poor, not because I am a bad player but because I PUG 100%. It's hard to win when half your team get themselves killed within 90 seconds on a defend mission because they didn't want to wait for the enemy to come to us, then proceed to curse the team for not supporting them.
Plus I am grinding tanks rather than playing my kitted out and crewed tanks which can make for some pretty sad shows.

PUG?...What is that?
I have a 56% rate of winning and I play alone most of the time, so there must be something else to it than just the "half the team get themselves killed within 90 seconds".

PUG= pick up group, solo play. How many battles do you have under your belt? I have just a hair over 2000, probably around 2100 now. On my Panther, Jumbo, Grille and Stug I am around 53%, while on my jagdpanther I around 46% but have a good kill/death ratio. Grinding new lines can really hurt the win rate since contributing with a rookie crew and stock tank can be tough.

I have 28k battles.
The keys to understand are that taking the enemy base is not enough, u must protect your base first, then take their base.
Then you must find a way to influence the battle through a series of move that will give you and the "Team" victories. Impose your will on the enemy, but not "your team" and keep the initiative.
Finally, learn to predict enemy behaviors, count tanks and keep your eyes on the map to understand where are they, and doing what?...Never stop deciphering that mini map!
You must make the difference on the field, but don't tell people what need to be done, DO IT YOURSELF!
Look at your "team" as being "out of control little hands", helping you on the side, when you do the main job alone!...Analyse, analyse, analyse, then put it back together to go your way.
WOT is more tactical to win, than people think when you play alone as you don't know who you are playing with and who you are playing against.
Don't kid yourself, it is not a magic bullet, it only works for me 56% of the time!...
That is all I can give you, if it can improve your game, good for you!

Well, I more "turned my back on WOT". Had a new HD setup and decided that I won't reinstall WoT. Played till level VI vehicles...and it feel is the same as with level one. The "tanks" are more like tamagochi for grown ups ;-)
Fun arcade game, and with the right "team" you get some real cool tactical moves going. But 93% of the times it was "quake on tracks". It bored me...

I am seriously hooked on this . I'm at tier 7 and I think I'll stay there. Have nine tanks that I'm happy with and have worked all except one up to elite. My favorites are my light tanks. The Stuarts and the Chaffee. Rough to fight in them but still have a ball. The TD's also. M18 is great. Can't believe how badly this stupid game grabbed me. It's just about all I play.

Oh, by the way. Love the game, but it has to have one of the worst communities in gaming.

I do have a lot of fun in WOT, been playing for something like 3 years now! The lower tier tanks and my Centurion are my favs.

it has to have one of the worst communities in gaming Yup! I was playing in my Panther 2 earlier. I'd set up a position where I could snipe a couple of higher tier mediums that kept showing themselves to get at the light tank that was spotting them. Eventually one of them realised it'd be better flanking us and made a move. I went too. The other medium cussed me out as a 'freakin camper panther'. That sort of comment makes me wonder about the gamers playing WOT. If you die too soon you're just a waste of a suicide player. If you wait for the enemy to get in the open you're a camper! In both cases you're a noob who should be playing tetris. Or so I was told. My average is around 52% wins, and I'm so worth that 2% to my team!

I'm loving the Matilda IV right now. Working some tier V heavies into shape, just got the Churchill I and T1 Heavy. (and a T14 that I bought a while back). I also have an M4 Sherman but it's pretty stock at the moment and I completely suck in it. I'm better in the Chi-Nu Kai, it has a nice accurate and punchy gun.
Other ones I play and like: M3 Stuart, elited and with a good crew, love zipping around and causing trouble. Marder II, splurged gold on the crew for this one since there was a crew training discount, and only 3 crew it wasn't too expensive.
I have several others that I don't really play that much any more: T18, too easy. Renault FT, hate tier 1 games. T26, another low tier machine, want to get the KV-1 but too much other to do at the moment. Pz III, loved the Pz IIIa so thought this one would play similarly but just got brutalized in it, completely disheartened by initial experience.

I'm back to it again, and remembering how much fun it is (and how good Wargaming is with free incentives). My M4 Sherman with the derpgun (the big HE gun) is great fun - hide, pop out, BLAM! The KV-1 with the derpgun is also fun. The Cromwell is great, and a whole different experience, zoom around and pewpewpew. I have the Tiger 2 and IS-1 as almost stock at the moment, which is a bit painful - especially with the Tiger 2 where I keep getting put into Tier 10 matches.

By the way, 5X for each 1st win. Goes until Sunday 0300 PST I believe. Heck, racked up 70,000 exp in about 3 hours of play last night. That would normally take me about a good solid week of playing. Since I finally got my WT E100, gonna work on the Foch line next.

Picked up my WT E100, AMX AC48 and almost got the Aufklaring Panther. The downside of the 5x events is there are a crap load of kiddies, crying about kill stealing and fail team comments. I wonder if they realize it's a pub match and they will be re-born in 15 minutes or less? Gotta love those that feel entitled to a win versus earning one.

Just a heads up, the latest WOT patch really screws up the FOV for ultra-wide screen players (Like Eyefinity and NVidia Surround). They are aware and hopefully will hotfix it soon... I cannot play in Eyefinity anymore without getting sick.

LOL, probably is demeaning to those screaming, err typing with all caps, about people stealing their kills in the pub matches. I personally have a blast in the pub matches but many that haven't read the various forums or watched the multitude of Youtube videos about best practices, don't realize it's not about the physical kills that count in your score, but the amount of damage you inflict overall. Anyway, meant that it seems there's much more immaturity during these 5x events than during the normal 2x or 3x days.

I am a full fledged WoT addict. My favorite ride is the hellcat... I just love this tank. If it performed more historically accurate vis a vis, agility, speed and traverse it would be even better I've mainly worked the US line with some digressions into the classic german tanks and premiums to train up my crews.. I've formed a casual clan ([718CV] 718th CAV) also, where we (about 15 members all told) just drop in and grind our rides and platoon for fun. No clan wars. They take up too much time and resources.. I've spent waaay too much money on a 'free' game but so far enjoy it immensely.. Remarks about the WoT community are pretty much spot on but there are a few gems in the bunch and I've learned alot of incidental info about tanks on the WoT forums... I've platooned with some here but my schedule is bad so I haven't kept it up.. My nomme de guerre is Sgt_Sheridan[718CV] What I really like is that there are mods that allow custom skins. There is some really good stuff out there. Here are some of my favorites...
