For the initial launch, switches and dials aren't in - so radios are out. They'll be coming soon as an additional in-app purchase.

Right now you can get live MFCDs, CDU and UFC. Grab the "all" package to get everything at a lower price than individual unlocks.

It's free to try so give it a shot! http://bit.ly/1hDt8pr

For those of you looking for just a CDU, you can get that now!

Feedback is welcome and encouraged. Updates will be coming soon. I'll do my best to get this up to par with the iPad app as soon as possible!

The price isn't apparent on the Google Play store. I'm not installing an app to find out how much it's going to cost to unlock. This really annoys me tbh. Is the cost offset to make up for how far the development is behind the iOS version?

Also "Due to limitations in the simulator, live MFCDs must be repeated on your monitor."
"Due to limitations in the simulator, the sim will be forced to run in full screen windowed mode"

Few people are going to go for this I'm affraid. Especially when they've spent so much on other hardware to make the experience seem more realistic. Having a hardware CDU is one step forward but the MFCDs on screen and windows mode is 2 massive ones back.

Plenty of people "go for it" actually. I have had it since it was first released on iOS. The simulator doesn't allow you to directly "port" the image of the MFDs nor the CDU directly to another device - hence a limitation of the simulator. You export them to a second monitor (physical or virtual) and they are rendered to your device. It works very well...

Playing in windowed mode is actually the preferred method - there was a time where DCS would crash if you ALT+TABed out of the game in full-screen mode. Even in windowed mode, your "window" is set the the size of your monitor thus it appears to be full-screen.

Did you create an account today just to post inaccurate and negative comments? Seriously, just google DCS Virtual Cockpit on Youtube and see how well it works.

Not sure how you can have an opinion on the price without installing it and finding out the price. Many people have requested CDU only functionality and the easiest way to give them that is in-app purchasing. So that's why it's free to download.

Anyway, that's not really the point of this post. The point is, it's on sale through the end of the weekend!

I'd love feedback from anyone whose used it. Updates to match parity with the iPad version are coming, unfortunately I only have so much time on my hands.

I'm always open to constructive feedback from anyone. Thanks to those of you who have supported this so far!

When the warranty is up on my wifes Kindle Fire I'm going to root the device so I can install Google apps. Looks great and would be a great way to have a CDU/UFC display (already have a secondary monitor for gauges and MFCDs). Great work in releasing this to another line of devices. And as far as complaints of pricing I'd like to see what those people end up spending on TM MFDs and a secondary monitor to display them on, I feel for you there Boarder!

Just checked the TM MFDs are around $60+

EDIT: And I have to agree playing in windowed mode is no big deal, if you want a multi monitor setup its the only way you can do it. Obviously some people think the result is like having a browser open with the windows border but its really full screen.

I've got a bad feeling about this.....

No I signed up to SimHQ so I could get into EEAH/EECH actually. I've seen iControl DCS posted on several forums and this just happens to be the one I was on when I decided to post a response. There are several other forums besides your beloved SimHQ.

Initially I was attracted to the thread because using my tablet as a CDU was really appealing to me, but not knowing the price or developer bar a few forum posts I wasn't going to install it yet. Impetuous installation of apps is why the Android market place has such a high rating of bad apps. I don't install Windows apps carelessly either.

Edit: ok so the CDU is free? Nothing is specified on the Play page as to the pricing structure before hand, what you get and what you don't. I only found out about the micro transactions from another forum thread regarding this app, which lead to further research and to which I found nothing. That's the only reason I didn't try it tbh. Note: The price is very reasonable but that isn't the point.

As for the other posts I find having separate physical screens in front of me for the MFCDs take away from the immersion as I can see them even if I'm using my trackIR to look behind me. I think utilizing the 3D cockpit to it's fullest is the best idea.

This is obviously my opinion. I think that in this day and age where every post has to be preceded by "this is only my opinion, don't bombard me with posts explaining how wrong I am" is pretty sad.

Anyways, this app isn't for me. Hope you multi screeners get good use out of it. Happy simming!

Your opinions on multi monitor setups.... "to each their own". Personally its not about having the secondary monitor take away from the in cockpit immersion, for me its the added dimension and immersion of having everything crisp and clear in front of me not to mention the added bonus of having TM MFDs on top of all that. I respect your opinion and personal taste but I think its a pretty cool option to those that want it and the IOS version from what I've seen/heard is pretty popular.

By the way I have a simpit set-up and have a projector as a display so even when I'm using TrackIR to pan around the secondary monitor isn't really in my FOV unless I look at it. Again every one plays there own way and has their own opinion of how it should be done and there is nothing wrong with that.

That's cool as hell man. I'd love to be able to have the space and money for a projector.

I love seeing/hearing about other people's setups. Mine leaves a lot to be desired but I've only really been at it for a short while and sometimes I find it a pain switching between a semi decent flight setup and driving. I'm still going to look into the CDU side of things cos entering data into that more easily would be a massive advantage.

I took exception to the idea of joining the forum just to create negativity however maybe I went about my post the wrong way. I should've probably posted a bit more before posting anything controversial.

I've updated the description in the app store to explain what functionality is available via in-app purchase.

Pricing in the description isn't feasible because it changes based on the region.

I love this thing (the android version). I'm going to get another one. Already hooked on it. It works best with just one MFCD running at a time, so I'll get one more. The app was 30 dollars US, and if I have to pay again for the second screen, I will. The app will drain your battery in a couple hours of running DCS, so that is something to consider. I'm real new to DCS A10, so I don't have a comparison to other rigs, but this setup is a big step up for me.

Here is a pic on a 10 inch Sony. The ruler is only 8 inches. I have not played with it yet.

I tried running two pads, one for each MFCD, and found it to be just too much. I am already constantly teetering on complete sensory overload in DCS, so two pads was too much for now.I returned one, and kept the 8 incher.

The actual sensor display area is a 3x3 inch square when in single MFCD mode. When in side by side mode, the display areas are 2x2, too small for me except when setting things up on the ground.

With TGP, TAD, DSMS, and MAV loaded onto a single display, I get a pretty good sized display and an active screen for button mashing. The OSBs don't give a satisfying military click , but it works well enough that I miss it when it's not there. I am getting to where I'm making better use of the MFDC, and the touch screen is maybe helping a bit.

Using the server app, you can also resize and move the MFCDs around in the F2 hud-only view. I've shrunk mine down and put them in the corners on top.

there is some lag at times, and occasional dropouts, but I'm patient with it because it seems like a good start and a clever use of these powerful, pretty darn cheap, pads.

Thanks to Rider9th, for showing me how to program the MFCDs and dozens of other vital things that I never suspected could exist in a flying game.

Next release I'll make the hit boxes larger for the buttons on the MFCD. They're just too small to use on a 7-8" tablet. I'm going to make them so they take up as much space as possible without overlapping the next button.

I wouldnt mind Side By Side MFDs with out the UFC, that way the Displays are bigger,

also, Less inner Bevel (giving displays more room).

I second that

Also wishing the app could keep up with the beta server, but I know that's probably not possible.

As of now, it only works in the released DCS World servers.

This is awesome and thank you so much for bringing it to the android community. Cant wiat to try it tonight. Curious if this has any significant effect on FPS. Just confused on how the whole thing works I guess. Is it a kin to having a second screen setup? or more like a second PC (ie the android tablet being the pc)?

Thanks.
