I keep on trying to play this game and enjoy it but no joy. The flight controls seem slow or something. Maybe there is some setting to change. And I have noticed that on the ground the circles you can make with any plane is far larger than in other WWII combat flight sims. Even the engine often does not want to rev, almost like it is in molasses.

Any suggestions?

I had my pitch and roll sensitivity really low from and older patch. Once I cranked that back up recently I found the controls more responsive.

I have the same throttle issue. Some planes like the Hurri and Spit seem to take a few seconds to get the engine to take off. But once in the air I think it's okay.

Thank you kestrel79. Does the game reset such things after each patch?
I am puzzled by the SENSITIVITY settings and the MULTIPLIER settings. I want my planes to reflect what the plane could really do and hope that changing such settings does not give any plane I fly more or less than what it can do. It does seem if I have the settings too low I do get less than what the plane could do so I fear adding to much multiplier will me pitch, roll, and yaw more than what the given real plane could do. One way or the other I need to find settings that I can actually fly with and have fun. As in IL2 it seems that the pitch is the most important in making the plane steady as opposed to wobbling all over the place.

I want to hear what others thing. At the moment I have pitch full sensitive and with a multiplier of .7

I was flying last night, I have an X52. Trim is almost impossible to set up on the trim wheels they wont center on the detents without rolling it back and forth till you can counter the movement at the center otherwise they just continue to full throw. The throttle only works within the last 1/3 of the axis. Brakes hardly work at all making ground maneuvering tough and when you are able to turn while taxiing the plane slides sideways like a drift car. I don't like the grinding on planes till you can get enough stuff included to make it fly correctly, I've got a F4F-3 and it wallows like a pig, however I can test fly the XP-50 and it flies really well considering it was a prototype and never saw combat. The game is beautiful but the gameplay in it sucks, I mean Brewster Buffaloes and P-26 Peashooters against F-86's and Me-262's..Really? Just another hole in the monitor to pitch money in.

I had a hard time getting my throttle set up as well (both CH Products and Logitech G940) but extensive fiddling with the multiplier and linearity settings has it dialled in reasonably well. I think the 1.37 patch messed up rudder controls for HOTAS users. I've done a lot of fiddling with rudder settings but I can't get fine control. Even with the lowest multiplier setting, the slightest touch causes coarse inputs and wallowing. The mouse users have a clear advantage here and it's very noticeable in head-on passes. I'd prefer to stick to the full-real sim mode but it's too often a ghost town so I mostly fly in historical battles. I wish Gaijin would further divide up the match making service to split those with use "real" control scheme settings from those who use "instructor" assist settings. The mouse snipers can be very frustrating.

Agree with all the above,to the extent that I have just about stopped playing the game(as well as not sinking any more money into it!)Should never have this mouse thing in the first place(every other game encourages people to buy a joystick.Seems beginner mousers can beat veteran joystick users.A genuine simulator would not make flying easier with a %^£!!** mouse!!
I Long for "WINGS 0f PREY"...We all enjoyed that, couple more patches would have made that game the best ever.

I only play in Sim battles mode (ex - FRB ). Mousers pretty much can't fly in that.
For Joystick you need sensitivity to max, otherwise you get control lag. Tweak the other settings to your liking.

It's quite fun, but the matchmaker is bloody horrible right now, and they don't seem eager to fix it. Until they do, I won't put any money into it.

Me neither, can't be arsed with it anymore... if they actually took into account a more historical match up scenario, based on history, not who 'grinds' what, they would increase their fan base dramatically.
