I believe the SpitSim no longer uses hydraulic dampers for control loading, but linear friction dampers instead, all adjustable by the user. They come pre-adjusted to give you the correct control forces as felt at cruise speed in a Spit. Of course the user can change the control feel as much as desired.
The SpitSim is being constantly improved by Mr. Jon Fellows, the designer, to be as accurate a simulation of the Spitfire's flight controls as possible. New equipment/options will include:
Hall sensors to be used instead of linear pots
Differential brakes - the brake lever as it is now is an 'on-off' switch, activating both brakes at once. The new design will act in the same way as in the real aircraft, the lever activates the brake pressure and it is sent to both brakes equally or differentially based on whether the pedals are centered or not. Full left rudder means only the left brake is activated, etc.
New flap selector switch
The spade grip has been refined, the "SpitSim Mk.II" version was cast using a real Mk.IX grip as an example.
Brake Lever
The original SpitSim spade grip was cast as one piece from the roll pivot upwards. The new version is attached onto the roll arm like in the real aircraft. This will probably make it easier to switch grips out once the cannon button version has been designed. This is, of course, my opinion only as I have no idea when the cannon version of the grip will be available.
Mr. Fellows is also working on an MDF Spitfire cockpit section for pit builders:
