Hopefully by this time next year we'll actually have a decent stable of released planes to use in DCS World. As someone who sat waiting for Jane's A-10, MPS' F-15E addon for F4, Sierra's Desert Fighters, MP in B-17 II, ED's Apache, Fighter Ops, and a Babylon 5 movie, I'm very familiar with announcements NOT leading to finished results.  The Jedi Master Nearly a year since that post and what do we have? A beta Huey and Mi-8, plus a couple of old stragglers from Flaming Cliffs.
I refuse to buy a flight sim that I have no interest in playing, on the off chance that MAYBE someday they'll make the one I really want to play.

a lot, if you take a look at the DCS: Roadmap (Unofficial). At the end, it is sad to see that one project get cancel, which would fit against the DCS MiG-21Bis...but i think, their will be more than one aircraft which get shut down in the next years...!

This is the reason I stopped reading these DCS threads a few weeks ago. I thought I'd check on any updates now, and find the same old story. Just shut the hell up and enjoy the game. It ain't about fighting realistic battles - here's the news: THERE AREN'T ANY! So use what is available to have fun - that's what it's supposed to be about - entertainment. Not rivet-counting cretinisation (now there's a word for you!).  As long as it works and it's fun - who gives? You want realism - join the Armed Forces, be a mercenary, win the lottery and buy one...  Same mind set here. Aside from the regular folks I fly with flight sim forums are MASSIVELY FILLED WITH B*TCHING. It's absolutely pathetic. Because A-10s fighting against SAMs like crazy is realistic... just enjoy the damn game. If you don't like it leave, you won't be missed

I'll admit I was certain when I posted that we'd have the MiG-21 by now. Wasn't expecting the Mi-8 already, and it's not something I was interested in anyway.
The loss of the F-104 is lamentable, but not unexpected. I'm sure we'll have others fall out as well.
I don't know if the blame belongs with ED for failure to communicate with them as they wished, or unrealistic expectations of how hard it would be to make it and they gave up too easily, or what. I'm sure they and ED have different stories from their POV. It makes little difference.
However, the fact that so far ONLY they have given up indicates to me this isn't just ED's fault, or else we'd have seen more quit by now and no UH-1 or Mi-8.
