Sad and strange from ED's part. Hope no other plane will be cancelled

Nearly a year since that post and what do we have? A beta Huey and Mi-8, plus a couple of old stragglers from Flaming Cliffs.

I refuse to buy a flight sim that I have no interest in playing, on the off chance that MAYBE someday they'll make the one I really want to play.

This is exactly what I was talking about in the post the other day. ED doesn't seem to be giving much support to the devs on these projects, only a few here and there and from what i can tell, not even much to them.

This is only the first guys.

It would also seem that ED is constantly changing things and not letting their 3rd party devs know about it which breaks their work.

You guys didn't really think it'd only take one year to develop and release these addons, did you?

another DCS add on that I never heard of.

I know that there is an FSX developer making an F-15D and there is a MiG-21 , that hopefully won´t be cancelled as well. How many there are of them?

a lot, if you take a look at the DCS: Roadmap (Unofficial).

At the end, it is sad to see that one project get cancel, which would fit against the DCS MiG-21Bis...but i think, their will be more than one aircraft which get shut down in the next years...!

It'd be nice to not completely throw it away,

Make it an AI Only, or DCS Flaming Cliffs F-104G.

THERE AREN'T ANY!

So use what is available to have fun - that's what it's supposed to be about - entertainment. Not rivet-counting cretinisation (now there's a word for you!). neaner

As long as it works and it's fun - who gives?

You want realism - join the Armed Forces, be a mercenary, win the lottery and buy one... rolleyes

Same mind set here. Aside from the regular folks I fly with flight sim forums are MASSIVELY FILLED WITH B*TCHING. It's absolutely pathetic. Because A-10s fighting against SAMs like crazy is realistic... just enjoy the damn game. If you don't like it leave, you won't be missed boom

there was a time when models like that would be released as a free mod for the community - we had plenty of mod makers and a much more active community, now it seems that many are making payware mods and the free mod making has dried up.

I'll admit I was certain when I posted that we'd have the MiG-21 by now. Wasn't expecting the Mi-8 already, and it's not something I was interested in anyway.

The loss of the F-104 is lamentable, but not unexpected. I'm sure we'll have others fall out as well.

I don't know if the blame belongs with ED for failure to communicate with them as they wished, or unrealistic expectations of how hard it would be to make it and they gave up too easily, or what. I'm sure they and ED have different stories from their POV. It makes little difference.

However, the fact that so far ONLY they have given up indicates to me this isn't just ED's fault, or else we'd have seen more quit by now and no UH-1 or Mi-8.
