We've talked in the regular group about sticking together for some other games, like Star Citizen when it comes out but also some other titles. I don't think MWO is going anywhere, but we might add something to the mix. Some DCS is going on already a little bit, and Arma3 is also coming out soon. Anything else the group might be interested in that I should be aware of? And if you guys have Splinter Cell Blacklist, I'll be up for some co-op in a week or so after finishing the campaign.
I just picked up trackir 5 and as soon as my swollen joystick goes away...wow...I'm ready to go with dcs. Next week I'm picking up blacklist(free voucher), arma3, and I will try and hold onto my 60% off of a dcs title for a little while (mig21?). I will probably be wondering around my hangar as well. My nights for anything are tues(mwo) and thurs - sat. Any other evenings are iffy. I'm up for whatever.
My trackiR3 died last week, so the 5 will be here Friday! I have ARMA3 (Dev build) DCSW, and DCS A-10C ported into it. My Steam ID is ,..oddly enough, Jarhead_ed. I will be up for some ARMA 3 if you need another body. My A-10 skills are,..lacking, since I really need to learn the systems and map the HOTAS.

One day a week is plenty enough time with you guys.
Forget it!!!
Just kidding.
That would be cool.
I have actually had the itch to pickup a flight sim again.
I have Falcon BMS installed (but would have to relearn it).
I installed DCS World, but don't have any modules yet.
Own Arma3, I would like to play this online with you guys. The regular Arma nights at SimHQ are generally a bad time for me. Later is better, as you guys know for me.
I was tempted to pick up Borderlands 2, heard the coop was really good on it.
So, I guess, ya, interested, not sure what nights though.

I'm kind of like Feet on the nights, and something fixed in place is a lot easier to deal with. Thurs would be possible, about the usual time 9CST, but Fri might work out well too. The kids usually have their things going on and my wife usually crashes early.
Chivalry would be a hoot with this group, I've already got it. Arma3 is probably a safe bet so I should probably grab that. Covers a lot of content. I have DCS World with FC3. That's probably as deep into sim as I need to go, but they're all in one game anyway, right?
Any kind of racing? I've got Simbin's titles covered up through GTR2, Evo, '07 & Race On. rFactor somewhere, but don't care for it. Shift 1 & 2, Grid (original), Test Drive Ferrari (haven't even launched it yet though), Dirt 2 & 3. Haven't done much racing in the last year or more, might need to get the G27 out again.
I think I have War Thunder downloaded, but need to get acquainted with it. I have Gaijin's Apache, Wings of Prey.
Any mmo's worth looking at as a group that are preferably free?
Just throwing things out there. Other than Arma3, which I think is a safe bet.
I can vouch for the fun of Borderlands 2 in co-op, but its strictly 4 player.
I have DCS A-10 and have yet to set up my HOTAS for it....but I was once proficient with Black Shark.
ARMA3 looks great, but I'm on the fence as I bought and never found enjoyment in ARMA2 largely due to the cumbersome interface (that damn backpack was crazy IMO) and my complete lack of skill.

I hear ya. I hate the control system in that game. I never did learn it. I'm hoping A3 is better about it and they put some thought into it.
Arma3 and DCS are definitely good options we've talked about, and I have many of the other sims/games mentioned and even if I didn't I'm pretty much game for picking something up if the rest of you guys will be playing it, nice rowdy fun crew we have and I think we would have fun playing most decent games :-)

If you guys end up with SC Blacklist, Spies vs Mercs would be a hoot. And geared towards small groups. Haven't ventured in there yet, but should be fun....yet frustrating. LOL

I have the first one. It's pretty fun, but I've only played with bots. Very fast paced, but the objectives are good. Picked up Arma3 today. Does seem to be a little easier to understand. Got killed immediately on the scuba mission after going on land. LOL Also Americas Army Proving Grounds is out. Different than the original, much faster paced, but not bad.
Arma 3 DCS Rise of Flight IfI get it installed again BMS IL2 FSX Arma 3 Borderlands 2 Ghost Recon Rainbow Six 3 Total War And a bajillion others that I won't htink of unless they are mentioned.
I'm good most evenings any time, may change now that I am on the flightline but for now Im good whenever in the evening, with random days I won't because of a study group or sim that runs late.
Or my flight jacks up and we are on formal release until 8PM or some such crap lol.
Friday and Saturday I can almost 100% guarantee I will be free after 4-5pm
so lets get some games together!!
Flying tonight methinks, unless a preponderance of ppl show up and convince me otherwise

I've got most Rainbow Six games, but not Vegas ones. I think. Somewhere. OGR was lost long ago, but I can't go that old school anymore anyway. I've got GRAW 1 & 2. Op Flashpoint Dragon Rising. SWAT 4/Stet expansion would be great, I think you can do 8 in co-op? I have Total War Shogun 2 but can barely play it.
Maybe we need to narrow down to a genre first? LOL Or rotate weekly until we find a favorite.
I don't think I'll be free at all this weekend, and I know I won't be free tonight. I'm still not 100% since the kidney infection and I've been abnormally tired, so I'm just gonna take it easy tonight. I should be free Monday, and since I've got Monday off I plan to NOT make any plans, which in turn should free up most of the day...

Congrats! And don't let anyone fool you, newborns are great for gaming time! You'll be up late anyway and if you sit cross-legged, you can feed them in your lap while holding a game controller.
I've got the first Payday too. Online is interesting.

Friggin brilliant time breaking the law tonight! Probably one of the best co-op games out there. Really satisfying getting what you can completed without setting off alarms. The shooting is good, but when we get the stealth down it's going to feel like an accomplishment.

SWAT would be excellent. The expansion if possible, it has all the missions and a little bit better loadout. That's up to 8 players, right?
Payday 2 is going well and a lot of fun. We haven't even gotten up to the big missions yet. With MWO going downhill fast, I hope we can keep a set of games to keep our Tues/Thurs gaming group busy. Something that would accomodate more at one time would be good. There's always Arma of some form, if it runs right for everyone.
Any other ideas that might handle 8-12 players? Would be nice if 7 Days to Die would drop in price.
Also looks like DayZ StandAlone Alpha is out now on Steam Early Access...
If the reviews turnout decent on this one I will likely be picking it up (watching twitch stream of it now), we used to have lots of SimHQ fun with the mod before the hackers got rampant...

Yep, I am waiting for 7 Days to Die to mature a little more and drop in price. Looks very cool and there plans for the project seem pretty sweet. I just can't justify more than $15 dollars for it at this point.
I've already got my mask on. My wife is looking at me like I am crazy but I am sure I can grab this XBOX One without setting off an alarm.

That's a good set of games. I'm the same about 7 Days as well as DayZ. Both sound excellent but I want them to get closer to being actually released. What I like about 7 Days is the building and fortifying your base for the night assaults. Day Z looks more immersive, but I'm wary of it being based on Arma. The Z's in the old version I played before were terrible and I NEVER found anything. I hate the idea of having to go online to look up where to find stuff. If I'm going to have to do that then the game might as well just give me a map and mark it for me. I'll get both of these when they get close to being done though, I'm pretty excited about both.
Payday 2 and SWAT 4 should be in the rotation if we all have it. Does everyone have the Stet expansion? I'll be on tonight for some PD2.
I don't have Swat 4 and am not seeing it on steam, anybody know where I could grab it from?
Yep, I'm interested in this too...
I bought SWAT 4 Gold from Amazon a year or two back for $10, just checked and it doesn't look available there right now sadly... and the digital option of the time "direct2drive.com" became Gamefly and doesn't look like they have it anymore either.
So eBay is probably the best option right now for Swat4 unfortunately.

Those are the only sources I know of too. Too bad D2D is gone. Be sure to get SWAT 4 Gold. It has 4 and the expansion. If you buy used, be sure it's all there. It does require the disc to play, short of shenanigans.
Yep, some good runs last night where we completely botched the escape. On the very hard/overkill maps we just can't set off any alarms...the cops level up way to fast.
What seemed to be our biggest problem last night on some of our close call missions was getting overwhelmed during extraction. I think we get so caught up moving bags that we neglect our combat duties. As a result, we get surrounded and put down. Usually in quick succession. If we have 4, we should have 2 shooting and 2 scooting.
S
Edit: That rats run to end the night was absolutely crazy. The stand we made in the meth lab was epic. I think we took down 3 dozers, a couple of tasers and a buttload of shields.
I think that should be default strategy for extraction. At least 2 covering, 1 or 2 (depending on numbers) moving bags.
On my next level I will have the 'throw farther' skill. Being generally lighter armored and armed in the group, I can default to moving bags unless otherwise stated.
I think we are getting better with our stealth though, and for the most part we even improved over the course of the night.
That Rats job was pretty awesome. Wouldn't want to try it on Overkill, that was 'Very Hard' and pushed us to the limits I think.
I didn't have Steam running last night after a reboot and so missed that you guys were playing, spent the night installing SWAT4 and Freelancer and doing the training missions.
Will look for you guys on tonight and I think I will switch Steam to start on reboot instead of manual to avoid this in the future.
Hehe my last round I played with you guys was the diamond heist where I was the last one alive trying to get the last bag in the van needed for the escape and got tazered in the escape box which ended the night in failure hehe so I definitely know what you mean... I can stay on suppress the fuzz role next time while you guys run bags.

I wish we could know where the van was going to return to. Seems like we should know the contingency plan. If we knew that we could move the bags around and dig in better in the right spot.

One thing I would really like is the cops having to be a little more careful around captives. There are bullets flying everywhere and I get penalized for capping the stupid civie in blue running with the swat troopers.
Got in some rounds of RO2 with some SimHQers last night. That was a hell of a lot of fun. Somewhere between the annoyingly silly battefield series and the ultra hardcore ARMA. I look forward to playing this more in the future...and maybe learning what the hell is going on.
Best part...no circle strafing and bunnyhopping. I hate that crap. You play around in the open...you die.

My wife and son will be out of town next Wed-Fri nights (!). I would like to get in a few MWO games one night (haven't played in months) and maybe even try a little DCS MP another night if anyone is interested.

The Stomping Land
Unfortunate name, but it sounds a bit like Rust with dinosaurs and simple structures. Wish I could trade out! I'm leery of the early access thing now. Wish it was PvE only, sounds like there's room for the Rust-like problem with PvP griefers.

I enjoyed that one a lot for a while sometime back. It gets a little old, but they did add more maps and I like the game mode with progressive objectives during a siege. You have to play it pretty regularly or you just get your butt whooped. Still, a fun game when you land in a good room and aren't totally outclassed.
Still in alpha, but looking good. All 5on 5 PvP capital ship combat, based on a conquest game type from what I can tell. Really good looking game and some cool looking fights.

Fractured Space is free this weekend, supposedly you keep it if you play it. It has kind of a MWO feel, but ship battles. Might want to pick up while free, it could be fun later when there's more development for groups. Not bad even now solo.
Gonna try it out a bit this afternoon. Might also try out some Elite later if anyone is up for it. I have been practicing my running-away-and-not-getting-killed skills quite a bit.
Just installed it and did one match quick. I think it has promise. Didn't know what I was doing, but it looks like you have some nice options for different weapons and upgrades.
I might be up for some Elite a bit later as well. I just upgraded my Sidewinder to a Cobra that I am starting to upgrade. Nice ship so far.

I may have to pick up that TBR. Not THAT different, you can do a 7 energy build now, but adding an LRM on there might be nice. According to mechlab, it doesn't require jump jets. More slots for heat sinks.
Tuesday, June 2nd @ 10AM 1PM PDT Patch Number: 1.3.400
Greetings MechWarriors,
The improved MechLab is here!
Strongly driven by community feedback, the new MechLab is intended to provide a more intuitive and consistent experience when building and customizing your 'Mechs. Beyond many 'quality of life' improvements, we wanted to ensure that this new MechLab retained the same core functionality as its predecessor. With the implementation of an array of additional fixes and feature improvements since the end of the PTS session, along with the integration of some excellent community feedback, we're excited to officially introduce the revamped MechLab.
The release of the new MechLab comprises the bulk of this patch, but rounding things out we have the addition of an FOV slider and Cockpit Glass toggle to the Settings menu, a slight buff to Clan Autocannons and Clan Ultra Autocannons, fixes for the Invalid 'Mech and partial item redemption issues, tool-tip functionality throughout the client, and the introduction of an itemized redemption window when redeeming any content.
This patch also sees the initial release of the special Resistance 1 Variant 'Mechs for eligible owners of the top-tier Resistance 1 and Resistance 2 Collections (as part of the Irresistible Resistance promotion).
Read on for all the details, and we'll see you on the battlefield!
- The MechWarrior Team

Clan AC and Clan UAC - Reduction in volley delay
The delay between each projectile being fired in a single volley has been reduced for Clan Autocannons and Clan Ultra Autocannons. Both the C-AC and the C-UAC use the same values. C-AC2/C-UAC2: 0.11s (reduced from 0.14s) C-AC5/C-UAC5: 0.11s (reduced from 0.15s) C-AC10/C-UAC10: 0.11s (reduced from 0.16s) C-AC20/C-UAC20: 0.11s (reduced from 0.17s)
UI
First-Person Field of View Slider has been added to the Game Settings menu. Cockpit Glass toggle has been added to the Game Settings menu. Tooltips have been added to most buttons throughout the client. The 'Redeem Item' window will now provide a complete list of all items that have been redeemed.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where 'Mechs would appear as 'Invalid' after returning from a match. Fixed an issue where all the items in a players redemption queue would not fully redeem after the initial login.

Guys guys guys! You've got to check out the new SW Battlefront Hoth gameplay footage. Looks friggin amazing! Also the new Ghost Recon game. The storyline is reminiscent of Clark and Ding's unit in Clear and Present Danger....open world ala Far Cry, anonymously chopping away at a network of drug cartels to make them fight each other. Looks BRILLIANT! These games actually get me stoked for playing shooters again. I hope we have the numbers interested to work these games into our game nights.
The first pre-Open Beta unlimited public testing will take place on the 24th and 25th of September, 2015
A good time to get in without being behind like WOT or War Thunder. Modern armor! (Sinner) JarheadEd says it's got PvE in some good sized groups as well as MP.

Jingles showed some co-op. It has a little way to go, some AI still spawns in, but he said the missions were good. Multiple objectives with sequential missions and the AI wasn't good. You can pick easy/medium/hard/insane levels for the AI. It scales with you as well. I like that it's modern. I hope they include some transport or rescue missions so you need an APC.

WoW and this should tide me over until SWBF comes out. I think it's too late to get into WT or WoT. I like being in there at the start so I don't get left behind too fast.
Armored Warfare looks good hopefully more sim than WOT, maybe sim isn't as important as I thought though, World of Warships has definitely been a nice surprise, I initially wasn't interested due to the simlite approach, but once I tried it I've been loving it.
Did you guys buy a founder pack for Armored Warfare to get to play it? is it worth it at this point?
BTW R6 Siege closed beta should be starting this week, that is looking like it might be fun for us to try out, new gameplay vid:

I haven't played AW yet, Ed was telling us about it. The co-op in particular is the draw. Tonight I think you can download for a stress test for the next few days, then the open beta starts. Sims are too dry and dull or take too long to learn...arcade games aren't fun for more than a day. Something comfortably in the middle would be just right. At this point, I don't care about sim or arcade, I just want it fun and engaging. I know it when I see it.
I don't have the time in my life anymore to learn a sim game unfortunately. I tried DCS a couple of times and started to get the hang of it, but I just can't keep up the skillset with my real life time pressures: ie. kids.
Something in the middle would be great. Something relatively easy to pick up, but rewards skill and teamwork is ideal for me playing with the group here.
I wouldn't mind trying Insurgency sometime, picked that up a while ago and did some tutorials, but that's it. Not sure if I will like it though, depends on how 'twitchy' the gameplay is. I am getting old and slow.

I got in as one of the early access testers, so I haven't bought into a founders pack. It is definitely not a sim level game. It is fun, PvP is good, and PvE is better since you can roll in with the homies. You can form a Battalion, which will be your SimHQ tag in game, and the game lets you platoon up through your in game friends list. There is a 2 tier split limit in a platoon, so you can run tier 3's and tier 5's in a PvE.
Thanks JarheadED, I see that they are opening up for a stress test starting tomorrow, so I will download the client and give it a try the next few days.

It's up and very slow right now. It will speed up as it seeds. 19GB at a slow pace, estimating 5-6 hrs now. Watching for the Rainbow email as well.
AW might not be a sim, after all, it's 3rd person, but it is *definitely* highly technical, so I think it will appeal to the MWO fan in me. These videos are pretty impressive, showing how complex the armor and ammo aspects of the game are:
Yeah downloaded AW while I was working today, just tried it out and it has the same 3rd person feel as WofW, I just did one round and won it by sneaking around the enemy in a BMP and capping... seems like a good game, just need to figure out all the upgrades and stuff...
Still waiting for the R6 Siege beta code email too, looks like they are just releasing those in waves and not all at once.

EDIT: this is the same process we went through before to register for the beta. Still have to wait on another email apparently. Only good if you haven't already registered for the beta. Sorry for the false alarm!
Free, just check out. Gives the link in the email, but here's the link. The site must be slammed, it's barely loading. Haven't gotten to start the download yet.
How to redeem this item?
Instructions:
Thank you for claiming your Rainbow Six Siege Beta code. For guaranteed access to the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege Closed Beta follow the steps below:
Go to www.rainbow6.com/beta. Select your platform of choice. Click "NEXT" to log in to Uplay, or create a Uplay account. If you are a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One owner, you will need to link your account to your PlayStation Network account or Xbox LIVE account. Enter your unique Access Code from this email. Once confirmation is received, the Closed Beta key for your platform of choice will be delivered to you prior to the Closed Beta start date via your Uplay email address.
Thanks I tried one of those Amazon codes and when I try to redeem it, it says I had already redeemed a code (from the Nvidia offer), so I guess all I can do is wait for the email.

Still no email. Not sure why I'm surprised, Ubi and Rainbow Six games have a terrible past. Even when the actual games launch, they always have network issues of some sort.

Nope. I've checked junk mail and even the web version of my mail to see if it's been filtered. Nothing. I noticed they've extended it, so maybe I'll still get it.
Man that sux, I got the first one and then the second one we did via amazon which I then selected for XB1, I can try to send it to you if you want to try it on uplay, not sure it will work for PC though.

Prob wouldn't work since you have to choose the system when signing up, but thanks. I was in the early alpha last May, don't know why there would be trouble getting it now. I'll keep watching.
Cool, I enjoyed it during the stress test, although the PVE mode had some annoying spawning/warping in enemies feature that removed any immersion, especially when they warped in 3 tanks right next to me and I was already beat up from the previous battles...
Hope they fix that and make the PVE enemies approach from some side instead.
Wonder if they will do a wipe or if we keep the stuff we earned during the stress test?
Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” -Robert Heinlein
It's space battles plus ground missions with character progression to bigger/better ships etc. I'm still checking out videos, but it's $18 which seems pretty good for a game that covers so much ground. It's been in the works for 7 years with the small group making it. It just sounds a little too good to be true. Is it a crappy space combat game combined with a crappy fps, or is it actually good? Offline or online, SP, co-op, MP, bots whatever you want to play it.

It's got the ship battles and boarding. I think battles actually get won as well. LOL I'm told it might be a little early to get it, so I'm going to hold off for a few more updates.
It's a co-op loot game sort of like Payday2 or L2D but with swords and melee. The streams and let's plays look pretty good for it, and it's coming out of early access next week I think, right now pre-order gets access to the beta that is live.
I'd pick it up if any of you guys have it or want to pick it up for co-op play.
UPDATE: Looks like Green Man Gaming has it for ~$20 using voucher GMGMID-SEASON-25PERC so I picked it up... will let you guys know how it is.
Apparently it's part Warships, part BSP maybe? Subs and more importantly, co-op. Downloading to check it out tomorrow. Will watch some vids to learn more.
Well Weasel and I played for about 2 hours last night. We had a good collection of matches, only one 12 - 4 stomp that we contributed to. Overall, I was not able to tell a ton of difference in gameplay but everyone seemed to last a little bit longer (higher ttk).
I'm seeing a lot more beat-up and damaged mechs rather than long range CT insta-kills.
They got rid of the stupid OP quirks that were still left. I've played 5 or 6 rounds since the patch and I'm liking it so far. The Atlas is a BEAST - durability quirks make it into the tank that it should have always been.
Weasel and I came across a DDC on tourmaline and I had to pummel that thing with my 4X (4ACs) for a good while before he dropped. Fortunately I had the open ground to chip away at him before he got in range.
I hope to be on this weekend, I added a new OS drive to my PC, and decided to do a full system reinstall. Stupid me forgot to back up all my controller profiles, so I have a little work to do before I'm up and running.
So the Steam launch is in about 3 hours from now. Is anyone going to join me tonight to see how this plays out? I will be on roughly 8:30 central for a few hours to smash some stuff.
I will be on this evening for some R6:S. In other news, the latest patch made the plants in Bog destructible, a new map was added, and the Warhammer in now in game.
