Hey all,

I just received my Light scribe disk via Newegg and burned a Disk, this is pretty cool technology. It is the first time I used it and I rather like it beats righting on the disk with a marker ..

I was wondering if anybody else here has used and and what you thought of it.. Besides the disks being about 1.00 a shot it is pretty cool

Hi Nephilim,

I was psyched when I bought my first Lightscribe drive, but I ended up only using it once. It's easier and faster for me to just use a marker =/ .

My result with the one disc that I tried was mixed: the image was excellent, but the contrast is pretty poor. It is very difficult to see, so I ended up using a marker on that one too, ha. I think I could have gotten some better results with different settings & different-colored discs though, so the mediocre results were really my fault.

If you sell your own music or programs, or just like a little flare on your discs, it can certainly do what you need. The technology works, no doubt.

funny, I've had two lightscribe DVD burners over the last several years but have once to use it.

1. I very rarely burn DVD's anymore (usually just backups which I don't care what they look like)
2. Lightscribe DVD's used to be more expensive (although could be cheaper now, haven't checked).

I still have a stack of about 80 blank DVD's from 5+ years ago lol!

I have an external one and I like it. Mainly I'll use that feature when I'm doing stuff for others. If I'm creating CDs for choir members of concerts we've done or when I converted the DVDs my Kenpo teacher did to mp4 for Kindles and iPads I'll add pictures and sometimes track lists. If it's practice CDs or something not as important I'll just do the title in the curved text that Lightscribe burns faster. Still not something I use a lot but I don't regret buying it.
