Or maybe it's "Showcase: Night Ops" (I am away from my computer). Has anyone successfully completed this? I've tried blowing up different installations and frankly feel that my poor lone soldier accomplished more than enough mayhem to "bring the enemy south" but it keeps finishing as a big fat fail. I have three satchels but there isn't quite enough time to blow up the three closest installations to the beach. I've blown the lighthouse and the AAA site but that still wasn't good enough. Curse you BI!

Not having NVG's (if he has them, I can't get them to work) for that mission strikes es me as rather dumb.
And, like you, I've blown up the outpost and the truck at the light house and can't complete it susccessfully.

I think I get why no NVGs. They want to demonstrate the new lighting which really is outstanding.

The new lighting effects make it actually more like night in real life. The only time I have ever been completely unable to see anything at night while in the woods was due to a massive rain storm which inhibited vision but even then we still could see 15-20 meters or so. However if you were in A2 then you might as well log of because you could not see more than one inch in front of your character.

I have finished it (without mods) by making judicious use of Save/Revert.

In the mission code there is a Mayhem counter (like in Just Cause 2) that increases your 'mayhem' for certain actions. The main things you will want to do are blow up the radio at the little camp in the valley below LZ Connor, blow up the vehicles at the Spartan base, and blow up the trucks at the lighthouse.

Interestingly, BI chose in that mission's code to intentionally set the AI to be almost as dumb as possible. It's basically a gimmick mission.

Alright. Thanks! They are dumb. But then again the Spec Ops guy is a tad outnumbered.

Makes sense. Back when I beat it was running around like a complete idiot and did pretty well. Only the few times I might have been in direct light the AI were able to kill me quickly and easily.
