I'd go Obutto with the flight stick mount. You get a mouse/keyboard tray as well as a monitor mount. If you play a lot of combat sims and like your stick mounted center the flight mount works great in the Obutto.
Looking at the playseat...where does your mouse and keyboard go when you aren't flying? How far will you be from your monitors without a stand?

I think the Obutto is too low to the ground for me and my desk setup. I'm trying to get away with using my current desk setup, and just have a better chair. I'll look at the distance for the monitors though. The seat back is also adjustable on this Playseat so I should be able to use my keyboard and mouse tray on my existing desk, when I'm flying or not you think?
Thanks for the feedback, this gives me some things to take into consideration!

I would have chimed in but I have the old school original playseat that is modified for simming. I don't think the newer ones are the same but the older version has proven to be a good buy for me although the foam seat bottom could use replacing almost seven yrs later.

I've got a bad feeling about this.....

Cheaper option would be to buy an old car seat and mount it yourself...

Thanks for that idea - Ice, but I find carseats particularly ugly for that... Just a personal preference. I looked more at the Obutto but it is just too low for my desk setup. With the Playseat Flight, it sits higher I can adjust the HOTAS stands down and back easily when not in use allowing me to scoot even closer to the keyboard tray. I plan on getting one in July I think. I'll let you guys know!

Just an update! I got the Playseat Flight in Friday and got my HOTAS and speaker mounts on it. The speaker mounts took some improvising as the seat back is framed and not made from a wood insert. I created some inserts out of heavy duty layered cardboard and secured them inside the seat back. I drilled some holes and used bolts and nuts to secure the previous speaker mounts I had made for my office chair. Works great! With this Playseat Flight I can now slide forward to my keyboard and mouse tray much better and comfortably than my old office chair with the HOTAS mounts rigged. It's also comfortable to sit in for hours (I weigh 165 lbs). I am impressed with the quality and materials! I hope it holds up for a very long time.

The center pole base piece is adjustable. You can slide it really near you, where the plate is right above your thighs. The issue I see with that however is being able to reach your keyboard if it's on a tray infront of you. So be sure you have something you can mount to the center post that would be able to hold a keyboard or have it next to the chair on a stand. Of course you would have to slide the base plate up on the pole before you get into or out of the seat, which is pretty easy to do. The pole also comes off real easy. There are cockpit rigs you can buy with built-in keyboard trays and such... But I needed a chair that could still function as a reasonable desk chair with my existing desk, as well as a HOTAS mount, that wouldn't swivel. That's why I didn't go Obutto, or some other brand.

Glad I could help! It's crazy to hear about the high prices for Obutto in Canada.
I'm really happy with the seat still, 2 weeks in. I do not know why I did not look this up and b uy it sooner!

I'll take measurements and pics tomorrow. As it is, I keep the joystick mounted all the time. When I scoot up to the keyboard tray when not playing flight sims the top part of my joystick handle clears to the right of my keyboard tray. I thought the chair would be too low, but I took measurments and it sits a few inches higher than my old office chair did when I had it fully lowered - thus making it comfortable to use as a regular chair not on wheels. Slides reasonably well on carpet too.

Here are pics showing the chair compared to the keyboard tray, scooted in close when I do work on the PC as opposed to flight simming. Measurements to come soon.

Anyone have playseat flight with Warthog? I wanna know how well it fit with Warthog both as a center mounted stick and sidestick? Are there screw holes that fit with Warthog? And what is your opinion with this seat? As Warthog stick plate is quite larger than other HOTAS, will it be too off to the right (thus make you angled your hand a lot) if mounted as a sidestick?
