I picked it up on Gamersgate on sale. A quick look shows that it's going to require at least some investment of time to get proficient in.

Worth it or no?

I also picked up SABOW today from GG for about $6. I realize we're talking different time periods, but if you only had time to invest in one or the other, which would it be?

For me SABOW. Its newer game with more eye candy. Animated interiors and ability to boss around units. Just be sure to get unofficial patches off graviteams sight.

PE is quite old, but still excellent game. It is missing lots of current stuff in the graphics department but its core is good. Unless you are talking about that arcade PE they made years back. I skipped that one as it was NOT like the Original PE.

I think you should take time to try both. PE exists and it is not going to vanish, so try it last if time is the issue.

PE graphcs are dated. Even the current work on the game engine and tools is not "modern" graphics.

If your efforts are limited and you choose to try PE, you should try vanilla PEx. The graphics are little more then PESE 1.2, but you get the code changes as tested in alpha and beta. Edit:' @unity '

If you have PESE, you should try the original Ostpak, MvR and Torch mods. They do not have time of flight for shells, but they are the reason PE is a "classic".

I vote to try both, even if it takes years.

One of the things I liked about PE was its platoon management. You had to keep track of crew members, ammo and even repairs (IIRC) between missions. Even though the campaigns were scripted, this gave a nice sense of conintuity between the missions.

Undercarriage lever a bit sticky was it, Sir?

That's high praise for Panzer Elite. Thanks for the inputs, I will definitely give it some time.

Originally Panzer Unity consisting of NSU , Murkz, MonkWarrior and others were working on the MP for TvsT then they moved on to other projects including i44.The funny part is that I downloaded and tried the PU MP beta
