I'm in for the pre-order as well, having slept on it so that I can kid myself it isn't an impulse purchase. It looks very good and is the right era for my tastes, if not exactly the top of my list of preferred theatres of operation. Stalingrad does lend itself to opposing sides venturing into the other's airspace, rather than it always being one sided in that regard. Plus, how often do good flight sims come along?

There isn't a Sept 1st deadline. That is only to get the Il-2 rear gunner field mod.
Most of you must have noticed that the video trailer features an IL-2 with a rear gunner; however this version of the IL-2 is not in the announced list of planes that will be available at launch. Today we happily reveal that the IL-2 weapon modification with a rear mounted ShKAS gun will be available from the start to everyone who pre-orders the game before September 1st, 2013.
Which implies that pre-orders will continue after since this is to entice more to purchase earlier but not a hard cut off date.
Preordered the fancy edition. Partly because I've got a little bit of money recently to spend, partly because I'm excited about the game, partly because I love to support new flight sims, and a little just because I want to make people's undies get in a bunch over it

The one thing I dont like is that the preorder bonus ended sept 1 My squadies and I are discussing if we should all preorder the deluxe edition and now we dont get the preorder bonus because we might choose to pay more.
Ah well, its just a simple weapon mod but still makes you feel a bit cheated. I didnt even know there was going to be a deadline except maybe the game release date.
I'm first saving for a Ruger 10/22 and then I'll save for this game.
