I start posting many of my finished work so this is one of my latest and i am glad that made it to UK today.

This is a picture that started as commission but end up to be my personal donation to the WM Duxford, Imperial War Museum and will be available for everyone to have a close look to the big print that will be placed in front of the newest lancaster. Hope you like it !

Did they actually fly onto the target under such weather conditions with low mist and such?

Cheers,

Wonderful!

My grandad was a 'fitter' in a dam buster squadron

About thirty years ago we taped him talking about dam busting and it was quite fascinating. I'd love to listen to that tape now, but like my grandad it's gone. smile

if i remember right the mist closed in as the night went on, they couldn't even find one of them because of it.

Thank you all guys...great support smile

Yes Sluggish they did and was the reason that many colide with tress and power cables above a town (i dont remember the name) or suffered damages because of the AA guns...easy targets when they flew that low to return home...but with this action they managed to create a mesh to the German war machine.

Just one thing I was wondering about on your excellent rendition; was not the mid-upper turret removed for the Dam raids?

Thanks,Well yes and know,Depends the plane some had some not...i did a bit of research about it and they had three of them with the turrets on because the original planes been replaced few days before the raid due to engine problems....so yes i think will be proper next picture i will do with a Dam Buster lancaster to be without the upper turret.Good eye btw smile

Really really great work. Love it!

To echo Furbs, any chance of getting a higher res version? ( I currently have it spread across 3 monitors and I would like to do it full justice smile )
