got Flanker 2.0 installed it. Then I pathced it up to 2.5 from a disk I got with my magazine.
wOk the thing runs fine but when I try the training sessions ti says it can't find the required file though I checked int he directory for Flanker and they are there. Now my question is when patching from 2.0 do you need to go 2.0 >>2.03a..then 2.5? Also should I have run Flanker 2.0 before I patched it?

Just got my hands on a copy of Flanker 2 as well (been looking for long enough!) -so I have been reading up.

Apparently 2.5 is not compatable with the 2.0 training missions.
You need to download them (+ some more) in a different format that is compatable with 2.0.
It is something like a 118MB download from http://www.Flanker2.com

yer know i've been thinking about flanker for a while 118mb! for a patch , wow (hears his 56K squeal) , hmm anybody know a magazine
with a CDROM that had the updates , i'd rather get a back issue than dload for 5-6 days and have it fail at 99% (go!zilla crashes with massive dloads on my system win me yer know whut i mean)

An additional note: The 2.5 training missions dont seem to work with the 2.51 patch. sigh.

Anyway, its no biggie. Finnish training before patching to 2.51.

Can I finish training in 2.0, before patching to 2.5?

Thus avoiding a 118 mb download?

they're not the same, and you don't have the Mig29K flyable in Flanker2.


You should see if there's somebody close to your place with better connection that can burn a CD for you

Didn't the October issue or September issue of "SimPilot" come with a CDRom with the 2.5 patch on? I friend told me he bought that issue. You can always contact the magazine or browse a magazine-shop for a Sim/computergames-mag with a CD on - worth a check.

Patching sequence for Flanker 2.0
1.Uninstall Flanker and the ssi file in programs diretory.
2.Reinstall Flanker.
3.install Flanker 2.5 update patch
4. install Flanker 2.5 training update patch
5. install Flanker 2.51 patch.
6.You have to install training patch rightafter the 2.5 patch,then the 2.51 patch
otherwise you will get the message cannot find exec.
