I loved that game!

Back then sims had great story and immersion. Something I often miss today.

It would be great if one could take dcs and then but some story or dynamic campaign aspect on top like games in the good old days.

Noob in current sims, but played tons of combat sims back in the 80's and 90's

Flying:
DCS World 2 Beta
Prepar3d primarily GA planes
Elite Dangerous

And I love games like XCOM, Fallout etc

System:
I7-2600k, MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8 gigs, 16 gigs memory,Thrustmaster Warthog, Thrustmaster MFD, Saitek pro flight pedals and TrackIR 5
Saitek yoke, multipanel, radiopanel and switch panel
3* Dell U2414H

Played that game forever. The story was cheesy looking back on it, but you felt immersed nonetheless.

Now sims seem to be completely void of any story telling for some reason. Even Janes titles back in the day had story elements.

Completely loved Strike Commander. It introduced me to the glorious Mig-21... despite the fact that I was shooting the poor things down all the time they turned into my favourite fighter.

I enjoyed playing strike commander a lot back then. But it was no sim, I had Falcon 3.0 for that...

Strike Commander more acurate than Flacon 3.0? Really? Is he serious?

Cool find, guod! Have very found memories of that game. Believe I played it on the first PC I bought for my own money...a 486 SX-25Mhz, 4MB RAM and 120MB HDD =)

Oh, I have to disagree... nope

Played both, and you all know which one was "more accurate". screwy Now, as far as immersion, I liked Strike Commander for the storyline. thumbsup
