My new mission in life is to bring down time warner.

Was a customer for about 20yrs.. Had cable (hi-def), internet access, and IP phone service.
A "special" deal expired and my monthly bill ballooned to ~130USD. Cell phone provider offered
IP phone service for $10 cheaper so I went with them. Time Warner
bill should be ~$100/mo now.

Received this months bill and it's $154.00 Are you #%&*$# kidding me????

I called and waited and talked to three levels of customer service (each transferred me when they
were tired of my ranting) and finally talked to a "solutions provider" who after a looong while
told me my monthly bill "could" come down to $125/mo IF I add HBO and Cinemax.. What a bunch of
#%&*$#.

I watch ESPN, the NFL Network, and SpongeBob on Saturday mornings. That's about it. And the
Military Network if they ever have anything on related to aircraft - which is hardly ever....

I don't need 700 freaking channels of crap!

My God... I don't do the social networking, but intend to become a member of facebook, twitter, etc
with the hope of gaining a following and drive the shareholders of time warner broke.

Anyone else feel the same?

ps this is really going to kill me when football season starts.....

Ha...
I haven't used a TV in 15 years.
Internet is all I need.
Youtube is just fine for what I want to watch when I want to watch it (and NO commercials)

They are not very good, but not the worst. I personally have no issues, but that does not mean I like their price manipulation practices.

I heard stories of people that had made really big hoopla with management and have managed to get their special pricing back. Requires a lot of patience and several weeks of calling.

McCain Introduces Bill for 'a la Carte' Cable TV: http://tv.yahoo.com/news/john-mccain-introduces-cable-la-carte-legislation-stop-171331371.html

The TV Consumer Freedom Act of 2013

Quote:
Sen. McCain introduced a bill Thursday in Congress, the Television Consumer Freedom Act of 2013. The act would "encourage the wholesale and retail unbundling of programming by distributors and programmers."

That means if you want to subscribe to a single cable channel, such as ESPN, you would be able to do that without subscribing to any others.

3500 people don't like TW out of what 15 billion people in the world. Who cares.

I want to hit them where it hurts. TW (or any company in general) doesn't give a crap about
their employees. They don't give a crap about their customers. But they DO give a big crap
about their investors.

Those are the folks I wanna hit up on. And will.

About a month ago, I went to the local TW retail space to replace a modem that had gone bad. I noticed there now was a gunbuster sign on the door. Two weeks later I packed all their crap and went back down and told them if my legally owned pistol is not welcomed in here, then neither is my business. It felt so good to drop them after putting up with so much fn crap over the years. We switched to At&t...we'll see what kind of crap they'll pull.

Good and helpful information from you kramer - as always. Cheers!

But we don't need another law...large corps always find a way to manipulate the law. We need consumers to say #%&*$# you!
The companies stock price will plummet. The investors will go somewhere else. It will affect the "bottom line".
Then, and only then, will they know something is wrong.
