Well, if we're the "undesirable element", and we out number you ten to one here, what does that tell you?....  . Lets see, we should start a poll, find out where we all stand. Who owns a weapon, or is interesting in them, wishes he did? Who doesn't own a weapon, and is not interested in them? Oh my, I miss spelled 'firearm' in the second choice...lol... Well it probably doesn't matter to them anyway...all their clips will run out soon.

I have 4 single guns worth more than $10,000 each. You're not one of those guys who took back a gold MP5 or AK as a trophy from Saddam, are you?  Nah. Its just that the world of NFA firearms is an expensive place to live. Select-fire weapons are expensive.

Something very cool I found out about was that our Sheriff's office gives away cable locks. I've got a trigger lock on my shotgun, but one of these on the pistol. It was good timing, my oldest was to the age I needed to take care of that.
Most places are like that, even up here, in the boon docks....they give away gun locks for free. Stops the kids. But I prefer a good safe, if you have a collection. Because a gun lock, won't stop a thief from taking them and cutting the lock. I'm a firm believer in a large, solid, quality safe. Mine is even bolted to the cement floor, from the inside. It would take a crane to lift it, when it's full. And I'm never gone for more than a few hours, at the most. If you can afford the weapons, you can afford the safe. I bought mine at Cabelas, for less than I paid for my last firearm. Just one. It keeps the weapons out of the hands of the bad guys.... edit; As far as another forum, I doubt that will happen. IMHO the boss has more than his hands full now. And this is as good as another 'new' forum. As long as we keep it civil, and don't bring politics into it. And even if there was another forum, and someone got political, it would have to be moved. I just don't see the need for it, unless Doug has the resources. Besides, I like reading the gun threads... ...I want 'em here. All good advice! With just a .357 and a 12ga., I'm not too worried. If I ended up with some of my Grandad's or uncles guns, I'd get a safe for sentimental reasons to want to protect them. As it is, I want the shotgun in our walk-in closet for my wife (or me for that matter) in case of break in while we're home. The pistol I don't care about, just got it since it was a cheap deal.

right now I own a non-functional Boer War era rifle. Over the decades I have owned four other rifles ( a .303 Lee Enfield , two 30.06 Winchesters, and .22 which I think was a Remington ) I also had an old Coey 12 ga. once I hadn't even heard of such a thing as the Boer war until just now. Interesting stuff.

The pistol I don't care about, just got it since it was a cheap deal. Then hide it well, when you leave the house. Nobody knows your home like you do. If you think, you'll find someplace to put it. Cause that's where these guys get a lot of their guns....stolen. I'm sure you can find a place nobody would look unless they have a lot of time. Put it there when you go out, just so they don't find it. Just an idea, I'm sure you already do, but thought I'd mention it, just in case, doesn't hurt. And maybe someone else with read this. Make the world a better place. Just one 'less' gun, in the hands of the bad guys, is a good thing. Just like, one 'more' gun, in the hands of a good guy, is a good thing.....

How about an XXX rated babe pic forum as well? You can add some kind of age verification to it to make sure the kids stay out. I'd suggest you keep Haggart out of it too. *shudder* Gee thanks, now I need to go scrub my brain with a brillo pad.

Zero. Never felt the need or inclination to get one. That probably puts me in the minority around here . Same here. Zero need for one anyway. Though I'd like to try the minigun that Blaine used in Predator.

IIRC there were tests to make a handheld minigun, but between the battery power requirements, the amount of ammo needed, and the knock-you-on-your-ass recoil it didn't work too well! Spliff, you an ARFCOM'er or are boating accidents a universal occurrence?
