Everyone,

Due to an attack on the nic.ru DNS system the ability to reach the ROF website and ROF Master Server is being affected. There is a workaround that was posted here on SimHQ that does work by using the Google DNS system which bypasses the default one which is currently not working. It is a simple change that can be easily be reversed when you no longer need it. Please look at the picture below to see how it is done. Give it a try if you really want to fly ROF.

If you are reading this and have friends who cannot play ROF, show them this workaround to get them flying until the current problem is solved.

This is no longer necessary, but if such a DNS issue arises again, keep this info for a nice alternative.

I'm having problems with this again. I can't get on to RoF forum to talk about it there, so have come here for any help, and sent 777 an email. I've tried the above solution to no avail (unless there's a step in the procedure not described?).

I'm in the UK. Anyone else still having problems, or have I been singled out?

Works fine here, (Leics, UK) have no drama's accessing the site or the game!

Okay, having fumed for another day, I tried altering the DNS settings in my router, and this has worked. Anybody else out there who's still struggling could give this a go. I won't give any technical details because I imagine all routers work slightly differently (and I haven't found out what's happened to the rest of the network yet....)

I used the fix for about a day, then everything caught up and I switched back and all was fine.
Now we know the fix if this happens again it's no biggy. It will take a couple of minutes to be up and playing again
