Hello Pilots,

It is time we got more serious about organizing community made Mods and other cool 3rd Party content for ROF. All popular flight-sims have a thriving mod community and ROF is no different. There are already many popular and interesting mods for ROF, but they are scattered here in the forum. Therefore, there is a desire for a one-stop shop for all ROF mods, tools, apps and other cool 3rd Party content. So, 777 studios will provide the web space for such a website and work with talented individuals to build it, manage it and create a process for submitting Mods for download. This will be an experiment of sorts and offered as a courtesy to our users, if it works well we’ll keep it. If it doesn’t we’ll scrap it.

This ROF Mods website will be for items that do not fit with the theme of the Useful Materials page which cannot be updated quickly and is mainly for official team created content such as paint templates and other artwork. By creating a new more flexible Mods site we can update it more quickly and keep it current, but still keep it within the overall ROF universe and web footprint.

What I am looking for.

- A skilled and professional acting website builder and webmaster who will build the site with my guidance and help coordinate with Mod builders to keep it current. Some limited compensation can be provided for your time and effort. Please only contact me if you are serious and have intermediate to advanced web building skills. This site will be fairly simple and straight forward. Nothing fancy, but it will need to be maintained and kinks worked out after launch.

- Once it is built I will need a ROF Mod Liaison volunteer to work with modders to make their mods and content compatible with the website and whatever tools modders use such as JGSME.

Once the site in beta I will ask the community to help fill it up by working with the Mod Liaison.

ROF has a wonderful Mods On feature and we appreciate everyone who has taken the time to put their own spin on ROF. This is a tradition that has been part of the overall flight-sim experience and community for many, many years and we enjoy seeing what you come up with for ROF. The team cannot make every mod official even if they are good so we want to encourage and help the mod community organize their content in a way that will allow lots of ROF users enjoy your Mods with minimal confusion.

If interested send me an email with a short description of your qualifying skills and interest. jason at 777studios.net. I prefer email over PM for special projects. My PM box fills up too fast.

Thanks again to all modders who help make ROF even better.

salute

Jason

Not really new to Rof, I had the game pretty much since it was released, It just recently I had a pc powerful enough to run it. Just a suggestion really,
Skyrim has a fantastic modding website and its own uploading tools called skyrim nexus. They also have a bunch of other mods sites for other games (nexus network). I know these are totally different gaming genres but perhaps nexus network would host ROF mods and integrate the modding tool for use with Rise of flight. They also have an abundance of servers all across the globe. It might even show off RoF to a more gaming ordinance an be good for 777's sales.

I should update this.

The ROF Mods website is designed and being worked on. Hopefully it can launch in May. There is a nice, practical solution in the works that will be a semi-official place to locate ROF Mods.
