Hey Dirk, what about that ICP unit you say you ordered? Is that an Aimsworth, or who makes that?

You know I got interested in this touchbuddy idea after reading a couple of threads. This is one of them , which is kinda interesting.

I was kinda in the market for an MFD that can be plugged in via USB, similar to your ICP unit, perhaps... and started asking around .

I figure it is only a matter of hours before Ghost pops in here with another bag of popcorn.

Anyway, I mention this after our discussions on the TB, because I am still trying to determine which way to go here. Of course, nobody at CH will say anything except WAIT. If CH is going to come out something cool like this, then there might be a decision to make -- maybe. TB will still have an advantage in that I can program all the radio commands over to that, and add pages/tabs as I see fit.

I could probably go with both at some point, but there just isn't room on the old home computer desktop in the front room. Really, adding all that extra hardware really requires something more involved, something approaching a real sim pit - and that requires some room (assuming you got the cash). Probably won't get to that while I'm still living over here... most likely, I'll have to wait and get back home to Normal Land.

Be sure to send me a photo of your rig when you get that ICP hooked up.

I got this touchscreen over the holidays and every few weeks, in between business trips and working on the Saudi campaign, I have tried to put together a little profile for Janes F/A-18. It nothing as impressive as the other profiles you'll see for F4:AF or Ruggbutt's profile for LOMAC, but it's not too bad -- and quite functional. Still not done with it, but if anybody is interested, I'll take some screen shots of it (or make a movie) to show it working in flight.

I got it anchored down right in front of my throttle, so I only have to pull my left hand off just an inch or two to hit the buttons on the screen that I need. I think the best part on it is the UFC buttons and the radio commands - makes a real difference having those right there.
