New Heavy Gear game has been announced.

Looks like they are doing the crowdsourcing model to fund development.

I actually enjoyed these older games, so hopefully this one turns out good.

Seems a little early, there isn't too much info on the site yet, mostly just concept art.

If it looks like it is coming together into something interesting, I will likely pledge, just wait and see for now.

Enjoyed the first one thoroughly, but can't remember much about #2. Have them both here somewhere. Good news we've got more mech games coming out.

I remember playing these a bit in between MechWarrior2, I didn't get hooked on them like I did the Battletech universe, but I'm definitely game to check it out especially if it is as fun as MWO and MWLL.

The first one had a great online campaign with persistent battle lines...brilliant. The second was more FPS than mech sim however

So will I.

Hmm, looking at the plegde rewards it seems they are going to make an mmo out of it, this was actually what put me off Mechwarrior Online.

I am ok with it being an MMO, but there seems to be a focus on 'arena combat', not sure about that, if that is all there will be to it.

I was hoping more along the lines of a persistent campaign, like Clydewinder mentioned.

One thing that seems cool is having part of the meta-game available from your smartphone (ie. betting on matches)

Why cant we just get a normal game anymore? Single player campaign with multiplayer on the back end.. Instead they just skip the single player campaign and just throw team deathmatch or FFA at us..

Ya, it was an 'alternate movement' mode where you could move quicker, but not maneuver very well.

If I remember correctly, I think I used it mostly to get between waypoints, and combat was done 'normally'.
