Hi there!

I had some questions regarding how other fliers handle their engine & plane regarding cruise, pursuit, climb, & combat settings. I searched quite a lot on the 1C forums & also here (where I found and printed out the lovely Aircraft Operations Checklists; many thanks for that community!). I know everyone handles their rigs differently, so I was hoping to gather tips & tweaks here. smile

1. Cruise
a. What do you set (and get) for your Boost, RPM, Prop Pitch, and Mix (I know this can usually be left alone in some planes)? I ask this because the AOC (for the Hurri mk.I for ex.) says max cruise can be +4.5PSI, 2600RPM, but at 4.5 boost I'm getting 3000RPM; when lowering Prop back, it drops too low; i.e. I can't get my engine to settle at 2600rpm at any altitude.
b. Spitfire & BF-109 pilots; how do you set your cruise settings?
c. Almost forgot, what speeds do you get? My IAS for a Hurri mk.i for ex., only cruises around 220 tops -- I know they're the slow kids out there, but is that what you all get (so hard to keep up with an empty 88!!!)? Spits, 109s, how about you?

2. Climb
a., b., c. Ditto for this -- Hurri mk.I, Spit mk.I, 109E-4?

3. Combat & Pursuit
a., b., c. Ditto as well.

I apologize if I'm asking a lot of you pilots there... I hopefully formatted the questions for each scenario to be simple though per plane: Boost/Throttle, Mix settings, Prop settings, RPMs to aim for, and lastly what speed do you get?

I'm really looking for this in re: to the Hurricane mk.I (D-5 20 or Rotol), Spitfire mk.I(or mk.Ia), and the 109E-4.

The AOC is super helpful, but I can't seem to get the numbers for my plane they put there... I know things like weather, altitude (which is dodgy in game at high altitudes), etc. can effect all these... just looking for a bit of concise knowledge from experience in the game.

I appreciate any help & advice in advance! I've always played simulators (starting way back to European Air War [I still call it a sim for its immersiveness!]), but never delved this deep into CEM before. I'm very grateful to the community and for getting me to fly, fight, land, and have so much fun with all the videos, docs, etc.

Yes, but AG104 seems to have already read it...

Good point to know what other do, I'm looking for the answer as well, as I not sure making the best things, especially with the Spitfire, regarding the use of boost cut-out etc.

Yeah, thanks MikiBzh, that's what I was trying to point out in my post -- I'm just curious what other people are "getting" out of the main 3 fighters...

I've been logging lots of hours so I feel better on "hearing" the engine, but I'm still trying to get the most out of my Hurricane to stay up to speed with those 111's and 88's. Even with full bombs those birds are hard to stay up to speed with!
