I have never played CloD above 20 frames/sec either.
CloD is/was worse off than DCSW ever was.
Odd how I get 60fps with full settings flying with 80 players Yet can barely get near 40 in DCS World... CLoD is a well known platform of issues. not withstanding it's 5 year release delay, several issues, and the fact that the developers stopped supporting it a year and a half later. Traveling below 350knots w/ barely any electric equipment other than radios that need to have data transmitted to other players is not the same as DCSW. where AI and Human Controlled Aircraft can travel up to 4 to 5 times the speeds in CLoD while still having to transmit and receive position data and equipment data. Like I said I was not expecting 80+ merely a reasonable 32... What issues in COD? I guess you never played the last two patches.... its certainly a lot more stable on my machine than dcs is in terms of a constant fps. Like I Said, CloD doesnt have to Simulate 100's of Sensors and Instruments. End of Story. I Maintain 60 Frames/Sec VSYNC all of the time, except when CBUs are deployed.. Across 5 Screens now at 5400x1920 I bailed on CLoD when the The Developers Bailed on it, why? to Make a completely new game instead of fixing the rest of the problems in the one they had. [admin edit: keep on topic]Anyway CoD is history and DCS are the only dev left to produce a decent ww2 sim With the old AA systems hopefully ww2 based DCS servers can go over 32 players

Not really, because in-game machines don't need to emulate real life exactly. You can cheat. We couldn't 'cheat' with LEAVU, we had to transmit own aircraft data to everyone on the data-link. By comparison an A-10C in-game can just get the status of datalink of a buddy, and show him on your screen if criteria like line of sight and SNR is correct by using the coordinates sent to it by the server. So now you're instantly spared from sending the vector data twice. Now, if you were to start having to do rapid updates of your sensors to others etc (in the case of A-10C this is a single point, ie. your SPI) with an A2A aircraft that may possibly detect multiple targets, as well as which ones you're designating, your systems status and possibly your RWR status, and so does everyone else in your 8-ship flight, things might start to look troublesome. Now that's not as bad if you send it all say, once a second or once every couple of seconds, naturally, but then you're not simulating a high-bandwidth data-link. Gotcha. So for modern, systems laden war machines, we're kinda SOL on the massive wargame front until we all get terabit spec connection speeds Well, if nothing else, 1.2.3. means we're that much closer to the Huey PS: no joy on auto-updater yet

The developers did not bail they were fired and Jason from 777 was "conveniently" just hanging around the 1C office... how lucky was that Anyway CoD is history and DCS are the only dev left to produce a decent ww2 sim With the old AA systems hopefully ww2 based DCS servers can go over 32 players I've already been on a Server that was around 28 players and is "P-51D only" with special missions for P-51Ds. as soon as it gets FW-190, im sure it will be added to those missions.

There's no reason why you can't host 32 if you have a powerful enough machine and enough bandwidth ... as long as you're not hosting 10's of moving units or lots of units shooting at each other. 32 is essentially a carefully crafted mission with specific obectives in either a COOP or force-on-force scenario. I can't tell you how many units are acceptable given a number of clients (and it's important to know how many units are moving and/or fighting at any given time as well), but you probably don't want much more than 300 or 400. Like I said I was not expecting 80+ merely a reasonable 32...
What issues in COD? I guess you never played the last two patches.... its certainly a lot more stable on my machine than dcs is in terms of a constant fps.

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1685448&postcount=1Autoupdate to 1.2.3 will be available around 8:30-9:00PM UTC.
Please, note: 1) Just running dcs_updater.exe checks for updates only once a day, to force a check, use 'Update DCS World' item from the Start menu. Alternatively, cmdline: dcs_update.exe update
2) Even while update server capacity was increased and some mirror selection problems were fixed, the servers most probably will slowly melt under your excitement. So, be patient, meditate on the progress bar and the enlightenment wil come in due time. The download size and speed indication will appear, but not in this release.
Happy simming, and don't forget your family.

Looks like the autoupdater is up. I could be wrong, as it's going slowly, so I don't know if I'll have 1.2.3 at the end of this.

Auto update is working but very slow. To be expected with the amount of people updating. At the current rate it looks like it's going to be a couple of hours. At least it's here.
