It was good enough to drive to the place and satisfy my curiosity, but not better than Hardees (Carl's Jr) which is closer and cheaper. I have to admire their business model, though . . . serve only burgers and fries and convince the diners that they are enjoying the most uncomfortable seating in the most spartan restaurant setting ever. I mean, if one of the "five guys" from behind the counter came to the seating area and took a dump in the middle of the floor, I would have taken it as part of the "charm." Oh look, peanut shells and a turd . . . and cool music.

The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.

From your review it sounds mediocre at best LOL!

I live in Canada and weve had a couple of Five Guys franchises open here so I was wondering about it.

When I used to travel to the US I really enjoyed a burger place called Fuddruckers. Hows that place doing?

Yeah, I'm not too impressed with 5 Guys either. Part of it is due to the location (in town Portland, no parking that's not free and/or in a garage, crazy busy between 1100-1400), but the main thing is I'm just not impressed with the food. Fries are too soggy, and while I think there has to be "more burger than bun" those sad, soggy pieces of bread they use are ridiculous. I know how Michael Douglas felt in "Falling Down" now! If we had Sonic, Carl's Jr, or Whataburger up here I'd choose any of them in a heartbeat, and Wendy's is much more convenient and just as good if not better.

ETA and if 5 Guys doesn't impress you, I'd definitely recommend not bothering with Elevation Burger.

We've got one and I'm not impressed either. The fries are good, but too greasy. The burgers, as with most fried, simply haven't got any flavor to them.
Backyard Burgers is probably the best of the drive through's, but I prefer my own on the grill.

I've eaten at a Five Guys a couple of times and it was good but nothing fantastic.

At least in Florida there are very few of those left. They're not nearly as popular as they used to be back in the 80's and 90's.

I'll take Steak and Shake over almost any fast food Burger Joint, the only thing that could possibly be better would be if they served beer, they are fast, cheap and taste great, and they have table service.

One Word. Whataburger!
Kicks 3 Guys right in the sac on taste and price.
Liked the fries @ 3 guys but the burger was not that great.
If you want a pricier burger in Houston go to Fudruckers or Beck's Prime.

Yeah, I wasn't impressed either. There are lots of better local burger joints in Raleigh and Durham that I'd rather spend my money at. Or, when I'm visiting San Diego, I'll always stop at this place:

A burger that's half bacon? Ain't nothin' wrong with that!

Tried it once too. Burger was mediocre and fries were just too much and not all that good.

I'd take a "Smash Burger" or a "Culver's Butter Burger" over a "Five Guys" any day.

What I really like about Culvers is they have 1911 Rootbeer.

Watch Idiocracy. You can't kill Fudpuckers, just change the name to the inevitable end result. LOL

I ate at Five Guys once to check it out. It was nothing special. I like In-N-Out Burger for fast food. Fuddruckers is good too.

At Fuddruckers, you can order a bucket of beer, so they win!

you guys are nuts, cant stand whataburger as they onion the hell out of their burgers. Fudruckers is okay. in-n-out is mediocore. Five guys is the best IMO. Never had soggy fries, they are always made fresh for every order and a burger all the way is the only way.

Not a fan of 5 Guys. Ate there once, never again. I liked In-N-Out Burger and Carl's Jr. when I lived in Las Vegas.

And here I was thinking that I was the only one who didn't much care for 5 Guys.
