If you have a free account and have not bought any planes yet then I believe it is compatible. If you have a cd key already and are just looking to get the planes then I dont think it is compatible.
In fact, now that I think about it the demo account requires you to put in a bunch of 7's as your cd key so it might not be compatible with the demo account.
Either way though you could just make a new account and use it with this cd key. Hey thanks, I think I will buy it then. Edit: I can confirm it works fine with the Free2Play version, didn't even have to redownload/install the game, just login on the RoF site and enter the code. Thanks again for the tipoff Master.

Cool stuff guys, Bandy thank you for the great tip and Priceyplanecrasher confirming that it works even with the free2play edition. Bought the Iron Cross version for $7.99...even though I love flying BF-109s I just couldn't pass on this opportunity so I have already registered the key on the ROF website and I'm downloading the free2play client...I can't wait to hit the sky. I haven't been this much excited about a flight sim since I got the original IL2  Thank You all!
