I guess that would depend on whether you already have an iPad. I found iControl to be great, but I already had the hardware at hand so it made sense to go in that direction.

I have an iPad3 but if Helios is better I am willing to get a touch screen monitor.

I love Helios. Two monitors stacked vertically with helios on the bottom is very immersive. It's like there is a real pit there, switches and all! I had removed my keyboard from my setup almost completely with Helios. Had to add it back in for the DCS aircraft that don't support the switchology.

Im also thinking about adding a touchscreen monitor to use under my regular monitor. is it possible to get all the switches and instruments on there or will i need multiple touchscreens for this?
I.e. To have 2 display modes, that lets you switch between the dash and the lower consoles?

Looks pretty cool, I've also seen people using the clickable cockpit with touchscreen. (without Helios) Does anybody here knows if that works alright? It seemed quite easy on the videos I've seen, I'd think its quite good in combo with T-IR KJ

Here is my Helios setup:  I've since replaced the base of the Warthog Stick with a smaller metal piece that is bolted to the table, giving lots of room for the mouse.

I'm actually using three of these: Ergotron LX Arms. Two are wall mount and one is a desktop mount. Two (desktop and wall) are for the monitors and the third is actually for the keyboard. Helios for me. The IPad app is really good but I got a cheap touch kit for an old 19 inch monitor and went with it. Not the best pic and that's my mate Wilf having a go ! Thing with Helios, once you get the hang of it, is its so easy to alter the setup and layout and try it out with a couple of clicks, really remarkable bit of software.
