Joe or someone else will correct me, Instant Action shouldn't work with DXTweaker. My solution was Compatibility mode Win2000. Never used instant action anyway.

Best for me is simple no compatibility mode, when using DXTweaker. But still, it's not quite right.

Did anybody manage to get the in-game video movies to work normally?

That's correct; known issue.

The movies have never worked correctly.

Aniso - anisotropic filtering = AF =

AA and AF might not have an effect on the tweaker results (and I don't think that's actually true - it should also eliminate the air-to-air slowdown with AA enabled) but you should be able to run them maxed out now.

Thanks Joe! You are the Sphinx of JF/A-18. (Sorry just got back from Cairo)

OK, I see.

Well, I guess then this is really just a work around. Not sure I'm happy with that. Today I went back to the computer shop next door to the office and asked about getting my old Nvidia 5600 card back. Too late, long gone.

So yeah, I'm ready to downgrade again, back to where I was.... I'll be keeping my eyelids open for another Nvid 5600, unless anybody knows of a MODERN video card that will run this sim nicely without banding, and without any of this Tweaker/Tuner silliness... any suggestions?

Another question -- should I even bother trying to remove my current Nvidia drivers and trying to go back to something older? Somehow I don't think this will help.... although it's tempting to try.

Geez, I wish Fighter Ops would be coming out as a Naval Aviation sim, and not another damn Wing Nut sim. How many super advanced F-15/F-16/A-10 sims does the world need, anyway? What the heck is wrong with the F/A-18?

Plenty of modern vid cards will run JF-18 without banding; they are all ATI cards.

I agree. I believe Falcon 4.0 AF and the orig F4 have everything the Air Force gooroo could want. A realistic jet(s) with COMPLETE clickability for the pits, and the most modern and realistic fighting. The Naval community isn't tapped as much as it could be. Just think of all the huge potential there is out there! And F-14 sim, F-18 sim(s), AWACS Sims, Carrier Ops Sims, etc etc. I really think some good modern Navy sims would fly off the shelf, the AF ones are getting a bit overdone. PS. For Janes F-18, you don't need a major vid card, something in the $100 - $200 IF that, will do just fine. Really for JF18, you need a major CPU, 3.0GHz and UP.
