Some future investigations show me that this stack problem is even responsible for some of the CTDs.

Looks like I need to shield all entry points against this to reduce the risk.

3 days left in 2005. Hope this will sufficient for this.

Ah, is that a banding/A2A/FSA fix for folks with ATI as well???? Just wondering. If not, hey, at least half of us are very happy (as opposed to EVERYONE being vexxed). Thanks for all your work, guys.

Yes, for ATI as well. Double bonus for ATI users because they can enable Alternate Pixel Center and fix the corrupted HUD that results from antialiasing. So, ATI users should get a framerate increase, the ability to use antialiasing without an air-to-air slowdown, no banding, and a clear HUD.

nVidia users get all of that except the ability to clear up the HUD, for now. That is our last step towards getting this game to look as good (or better) on modern hardware than it does on a Voodoo 5.

As F/A-18 is not the only game with bad UI text in the case AA there is a good chance that I will add a plugin for this problem. But first and hopefully this is the last step I need to secure the entry points against the bad behavior of the game.

Has anyone without SP2 had any success?

Sinner, I tried it on 3, 3 different systems without success. It just didn't work, period. I had been cautious about SP2 but after installation switched off all unnecessary processes and now everything works perfect including DXTweaker.

I have changed the hook method a little bit since the last release. Maybe it will work now without SP2.

If nothing bad happen I will build a new release in the next 24 hours.

New version (B 1g) is ready for download.

EDIT: PS: For the water you need to select A8R8G8B8 as format.
