First off I have to say that we dropped the ball on this one.
TEAM VRC was not ready to divulge our project aircraft until we had a cockpit ready for video. The justification for doing so was for the sole purpose to secure our Dev status with ED.
Since you have video proof of our efforts, be it not very flattering, I am confirming that we are working on the F-100D Super Sabre.
We will release 3 mods based on this airframe: QF-100D which is depicted in the above video. F-100D Thunderbird variant - later releases will include AFM. F-100D Full combat ready with all systems, 6 DOF, and clickable cockpit.
Our team is working diligently to get up to speed and heavily into reverse engineering code so we can bring our Cockpit to life. We are busting through every barrier that we hit and the team is producing some of the best work I have seen in a freeware effort.
We have to discuss as a team what our next steps are to be, however I am sure that we will be forthcoming with screenshots and videos.
Our goal is to provide the Community with the HUN so you can enjoy DCSW even more until your favorite mods are available.

Had 8 RDAF F-100Ds take off over my head whilst stood at the far end of the runway at Gütersloh in 1979. It was one of the most exciting and gut-churning experiences of my life! (along with crouching in an open concrete bunker underneath a hovering Harrier )
Let's just hope we have a decently working DCSW before this is released so we can enjoy it to the full. Not holding my breath, mind.
There are lots of F-100 fans flying the Thirdwire sims for the last 10 years now. It's a great historical bird. Just don't go turning and burning with MiG-17s!

This screenshot is about a week and a half old, Afterburner Texture is a temp material, as we are testing different setups to see which ones offer the best appearance.

Like a lot of other studios, work being done right now is systems coding and Building the cockpit panels, which cant really be shown off in Screenshots… (well i could share renders of the panels, but Not yet).

Do I smell a potential Vietnam game coming along with the MIG-21 also in the pipeline?
I would hope that could be done in the future - might have a way to go though - looking at my SF2V install you need 100+ more types of aircraft, a SEA Terrain, ground Sea objects, weapons, AI with tactics for that era, and a dynamic campaign engine would be nice.
Any terrain I would want target locations in South Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia especially the Ho Chi Minh trails out of the box, and lots of offensive action from the NVA and VC in those areas so CAS can be flown.
