Wouldn't have thought so... British Films and TV seldom are improved by their US remakes... And there was something about Ian Richardson as Francis Urquhart that I can't see being honoured.

+1
Actually, to date I have yet to see a single US remake that was better than the original UK show or film.
Isn't it funny though? Hollywood is making all these remakes of UK shows and films but it's the UK actors who are all coming to Hollywood to star in US films and shows.

I hear there is a US version of The Inbetweeners being made too? Why? Just show the UK version, we watch US shows and have no problem relating to US stuff. The US version of Shameless was awful and The Office was nowhere near as good as the UK one.

Channel 4 were showing the US version of The Inbetweeners before Christmas. I only saw one of them but it wasn't that bad, to be honest. Maybe not quite as funny but pretty passable. Now, I remember seeing a sit-com once which was a supposed to be a US remake of Fawlty Towers. It was Bad. Actually, it was bad in so many ways and dimensions it would have to have a branch of theoretical comedy physics created before you could understand how bad it was. And in the same league as that was the British version of Married With Children, which was on. about 15 years ago and starred Russ Abbot. Oh Dear, that sucked.
Did anyone ever see the pilot for the US version of Red Dwarf that was on about 20 years ago? I had heard it was just weird, including a sort of toned, Surfer Dude as Lister. I've never met anyone who has actually seen it, and I'm not even sure it made it as far as being broadcast, but I'm sort of curious about it.
I bought by GF the boxset of the original House of Cards for her Christmas and we have been watching it over the last few nights. I had forgotten just how brilliant it was. Ian Richardson is truly fantastic in it.
I couldn't watch a single full episode of the US version of Being Human after seeing the UK version. I don't know why they can't just straight import the UK show. Seems to work fine for Doctor Who.

PBS has had several straight imports over the years.

All in the Family was based on Till Death do us Part, and it was pretty good.

Ah I didn't know that. Wasn't Sanford & Son also based on a UK show? That one was pretty good.

US version of The Office is better than the British versio in every single way except for the discomfort factor that Ricky Gervais brought to the original role. He was fantastic, but the US version is better overall.

Absolutely disagree with you there, no way the US version is better than the original.
